Another Caught Police Beating In Philadelphia For...Biking The Wrong Way

Here we go again on video. A man was beaten by 10 Philadelphia police officers for supposedly biking the wrong way but was arrested on drugs charges.

Unfortunately think about all the stuff that is not recorded. This happened in April.

I should add this is not representative of all Philadelphia police but does show a pack mentality if nothing else the way they all piled on or participated. Would they have acted the same way without all the other police being there.

11 cop cars to assist in a bicycle rider going the wrong, way...these cops need some busy work, instead of getting their jollies doing this stuff. I'm glad they didn't kill this man, they all need to wear uniform cameras, that would cut way down on this abuse. An I know it isn't representative of all Philadelphia police officers, but these hot heads have to be dealt with.

...and poor training. I agree with all you've said. It doesn't feel to me like we're bashing the police, I know better, and I don't bash any those officers in the force who are doing their jobs in an honest and respectable way every day.

Absolutely. And good leadership understands the value of training and melding it with policy.

Why does it take a mob of police officers to subdue one individual when a one or two should be able to use technique or non lethal tools ie taser, baton(I know) etc

Some more information but still can't justify the beating or number of police to subdue one man.

Apparently the suspect bit one of the officers saying he had asthma and fear he wouldn't be able to breathe. The police said they 5.3 grams of crack cocaine on him. He was taken to a hospital but they only checked in blood pressure and pupils but nothing else to check for injury, suspect says he has back pain among other things. The suspect has been in jail since the incident in April.
