And it`s a big one. This one started in our county but move quickly to a neighboring county. I was on FB last night around 10 and saw the first reports of it-firefighters were not even on site yet.It was estimated at 5-10 acres. By the time I got up at 6 this morning,it was at 10,000 acres. I had text my youngest daughter before I went to bed as it was headed in her direction, but it appears to be heading a little south of her. She posted this pic this morning of the view from her property.Fire Shea.jpg

I forgot to mention that it is very, very windy. Power was shut down again yesterday to some areas beause of the windy forecast, but our area was not one of them.Sounds like we may lose power on Sat.-Mon. though,as a high wind event is forecast.

I just can't imagine how you go about your daily life living with this nightmare over and over. Does it ever stop?
And how on earth do you sleep at night?

We sleep with our phones now. We get very loud alerts on our phones when something is going on. Now last night,I already knew about the fire before we got the alert because I had seen it reported on FB on a scanner page that I belong to. And it was far enough away from us that I wasn`t worried for us,but was for my daughter. It`s a "new normal" for sure, but I guess, like people who live in hurricane and tornado areas,we just deal with it.

"Well let me tell ya a story bout a man name Jeb. Poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed. Kin folks said California is the place you ought to be. So he loaded up his truck moved to Iowa. Jeb was not stupid.

WOW I feel for you in California ' but people should remember houses u can replace not lives' dont hang around thinking you can beat it -fire is very powerful especially in winds -
