Another flake on Marketplace

Don't reply with something to the effect, "Why do you put yourself through this?" I've heard it all before. I just want to you to see this about houseplants I posted and the vague responses:

She: Is this item still available?

Me: Yes, all the plants are still available.

She: Awesome

Me: Are you interested?

She: Yes

Me: When can you come to look?

She: I'll text when I get back

That's the last I've heard in 18 hours.

The only thing I can think of that may have put her off is the "when can you come to look?" instead of something like "would you like to see them?" Seems like a little thing that most people wouldn't notice, but some could interpret it as being pushy, maybe? Just thinking aloud, don't be throwing potatoes with peeking eyes at me! 😁

Yes...my daughter had an on-line busines of quality, (raather)
high- priced items and so many wanted to " chew her down" in price...
Or after item's delivered.they said it was damaged...not
and wanted their money refunded
It drove her crazy

And..after so much...gave it up.

they do that almost all the time deb. i finally said the hell with it and quit trying to sell stuff on there. they look for whatever is cheapest in all the buy sell trade groups.

Sometimes when I advertise a garage sale I get some responses with the, "Is this item still available?" which doesn't make any sense. I suspect some replies are bots and others because people don't really read the ad through.

I did the same after a while...

I used to sell upgraded and refurbished Vintage telephone.. in immculate condition.... they weren't cheap, and there was a massive interest in them for about 3 or 4 years..everyone wanted a Vintage phone particualarly if it had been altered to use on digital telephone lines which we did if they wished us to do it.... but eventually the craze for the phones began falling as big manufacturers realised there was a demand for them and started churning out cheaper quality modern look-a-likies in their thousands, for around the same price or less ..and then customers would suddenly find their was something wrong with the phone they'd bought from me.. and want a refund.. when I knew there was absolutely nothing wrong with the phones...

By the time I'd sourced them, sometimes travelling for a couple hundred miles to buy them, made them like new without losing their unique vintage quality, listed them, posted them ( very heavy )... then dealt with dodgy people.... I just couldn't be bothered any more..and people's lies to get their money refunded..

I’ve seen adds on Gumtree which is a free online selling place.
Which attracts lots of dodgy sellers / scammers

How do I know , well I’ve given away lots of fresh fruit off my trees in summer …..and some want me to post at my expense~~ FREE fresh fruit ….as well as excess shade loving plants I’ve stated from cuttings

I usually don’t even bother looking at the site ,however I was recently looking for a cheapish sewing machine capable of sewing shadecloth to make small windbreaks for my garden , and I took a look at the plants section while on the site

most adds I looked at …..Say …..

“if adds still showing ~ item is STILL …available “ and also say…..I Will ~ Not … answer any messages ~ asking if it’s still available …..

What is the item if you don't mind saying?
It's a 1998 Stuffins plush greyhound, here are pix:

(That's a little puppy attached on its side in the 2nd pic.) I've heard that Ikea was selling these but not sure about that. And I heard you could contact the company sometimes to ask where to find their discontinued products but the Stuffins company seems to be completely out of business. Stuffins made one in 1997 and somebody had one for sale on eBay but I don't like that one.

I will look around for you...I know a lot of antique and vintage era dealers.
