Another flake on Marketplace

Is it very involved setting up a Fb account these days? There's a vintage item I'm desperately seeking--it's the one that the aforementioned questionable eBay seller refused to sell me--and I'm wondering if I could find it on Marketplace.

I'm curious. Might we have one?

If you're asking for pix:

It's a 1998 Stuffins plush greyhound. I heard that Ikea sold them but not sure about that. I look everyday on etsy, eBay, poshmark, mercari & craigslist. I guess they're pretty rare. (Which is why I think the eBay gal, after accepting my offer, all of a sudden came up with a nonexistent prob with my PayPal acct: she realized how rare they were & decided she could get more money.)

I got on Ikea's site and looked at hudreds of stuffed animals and I need to thank you! Turns out I had bought my son (now 49) at least 5 of them when he was little. Looking trough the pages and suddenly seeing one I had bought was so much fun.

I was on the site for Stuffins and there is a stuffed greyhound like the one you are looking for. In great condition but system will not allow a pic. So I has typed in 'Ikeas stuffed greyhound dogs' and there is one there.

Try it and see, and good luck.

Is that the ikea site, dusty? Or is there a site for Stuffins; I couldn't find one and when I searched for Stuffins on Ikea, the greyhound didn't come up.

I found it again on ebay...it is in a laying position with head up...just go to Ebay and type in "Stubbins plush greyhound dog for sale on ebay" good luck.

Sometimes when I advertise a garage sale I get some responses with the, "Is this item still available?" which doesn't make any sense. I suspect some replies are bots and others because people don't really read the ad through.
This is the default response to contact someone about an item on marketplace; so this is what a lot of people just start with, @debodun . Otherwise, you have to delete that whole sentence and then ask some other question about the item, and most people are wondering if it is still available anyway.
Some sellers do not respond, or they leave the advertisement up even after the item has been sold; so I can see why buyers would use the default response.
I try not to do that because I am hoping an original sentence is more apt to get a seller response, but that does not always work either.

Since you are hoping to find a unique item, @officerripley , I think you would have better luck finding it on eBay than on facebook marketplace, which is more for local items, while with eBay, you can search everywhere for the item you are wanting.

They want your photograph, taken while you are in the process of signing up. So I didn't sign up. I figured FB would sell to some facial recognition data collector.

You can use any photograph that you want in your facebook account, and some people do not even use a real name, or only part of their name. You can pretty much put as much or as little information as you want on your page, and you can add friends that you like and not add anyone you do not want to see your page. Everything can be kept private, or shared with your facebook friends, or some people make it so anyone can see, it is all up to what each person prefers.

I change my profile picture whenever I feel like it , and often use photos from flowers in my garden. So it is not ever necessary to use a personal photo, and it can be one from your files of you at some earlier time, or of something else completely.

Apparently not when one is opening a brand new account.
