Another lab leak? But this time, it's rare and aggressive cancers

As many as 9 researchers and scientists who worked at a lab in China have been diagnosed with rare, very aggressive forms of cancer. The cancers were already at stage 4 when diagnosed, and all of these people were diagnosed within weeks of each other.

The lab research mainly involves studying what triggers cancer growths, as well as isolating the human gene that suppresses cancer, including how to turn that gene off.

Within days after 3 of the cancer cases went public on Chinese social media, the research lab was completely dismantled. The media posts were deleted by the CCP within hours after they were posted, but fortunately, the posts already had 1 to 4 million views each, and had been screenshot and shared.

We need to take some time to gather information on this before jumping to conclusions. A quick dig around, and I can only find reference to three doctors getting cancer - different cancers (one breast cancer, one pancreatic) from a research department at a major hospital. Of course, Social Media has spun up it's usual stories, but the vast majority appear to be exaggerations. Let's see what we learn over time.

This is where I learned about it. This vid is kind of long (sorry 'bout that) but worth a listen, and you only need to listen until Lei starts taking questions.

Is it a lab safety accident or reckless study of genetic weapons?

I agree. Lei seems admirable to me, for raising questions. But yeah, I'd think best to take some time before forming any opinion.

Who is this Lei person? Sounds & looks like a quack.
She's a Chinese-American who grew to adulthood in China. She loves her home country, but despises its government, the CCP.

Frustrated by US politician's apparent naivete regarding CCP politics, she started her YouTube channel, Lei's Real Talk, hoping to help Americans understand how the CCP works and how some of their policies harm China and its people, and the USA and Americans....well, and other countries.

Not much of a resume. Is that it?

She just speaks from her own experience and knowledge. Plus she has family and friends in China who tell her what's going on. Plus she does tons of research, and has access to Chinese internet websites.

She doesn't pretend to be something she isn't, and on the rare occasion she posts news that hasn't been totally verified yet (like this story), she says so, and looks into it further and post updates.
