Or you could say, spending money is what they love - on stuff that puts some of it in their own pockets. There's no immediate gain in mental health services, education, and cracking down on crime.

Or maybe they don't like the idea of a sane, well-balanced, well-educated society. When I think about it, mass shootings ensures votes for certain elected officials.
 

I just heard when I got in my car after work on KGO News Talk, San Francisco that the shooter actually said to someone there he didn't want to shoot him because he wasn't a rail employee. He had it out for co-workers. What a nightmare.

A witness said the shooter only targeted certain individuals who made his life miserable in the workplace, and let others walk away.
Not permitting bullying or harassment & treating others with respect costs nothing & goes a long way.

Not saying you’re wrong. Was he bullied or was he the bully?

Knowing someone very well who had to deal with a murderer in a mass killing, the killer was a notorious bully. Those who tried to deal with him were his main targets. Innocents were killed too.

Yeh saw that. Since it was a union meeting in progress I wonder if was targeting some union reps or officials. I've seen members get very upset at the union when they don't get what they want

There's a lot of evidence that he hated his job, so I don't think he was targeting the union, he just knew a lot of his co-workers would be there.

I wouldn't automatically believe anything said by co-workers or management. After such incidents, the people who drove the shooter to it NEVER admit what they did to contribute to it.

At 2 places I worked (one retail sporting goods & one Govt. Aerospace Plant), the harassment & bullying included my supervisor sabotaging my work, then writing me up for it & telling lies about me to VP's & management, trying to get me fired.

In a retail sporting goods outlet, co-workers were stealing money and also illegally selling products (including guns & ammunition) to their friends for next to nothing, and no legal paperwork or registration which is required by law for firearms, either.
They were very concerned that I wasn't stealing anything since they knew that I knew what they were doing & that made them afraid I would tell the owner. They frequently offered cash & free guns & ammo to me so I would be a part of it & they could stop worrying about me.
Then the harassment started - including threats on my life.
They will never know how lucky they were that I detested violence more than I detested them.
Officers from the BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms) descended on the place & arrested 3 of my co-workers AND 2 Managers.
I took legal action against both places. Successfully.
 
The way the label his remarks 'inappropiate' almost sounds like he was telling a joke or something not directing at anyone in particular. He also seemed to have spared several of middle eastern decent by names in the news.
