Another Sign Of Spring In My Part Of Canada

Canada eh
Was outside doing some yard work today when I heard some honking overhead that didn't sound like the usual Canada Geese we have around here by the hundreds.

Turns out it was a flock of Tundra Swans migrating back to the Arctic from Maryland where they spend their winters. They always stop at a nearby Conservation Area for a break. Big tourist draw.

Even with the blizzard they're calling for tonight there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Those swans are beautiful. We have a pair on a lake near us, not sure what kind they are. They have been here for years. I think they mate for life. Every year I look hoping they both will still be there. So far so good. We are probably going to get only rain from the storm you mentioned. We still have March to get through and part of April before we are in the clear.

They are beautiful. I go to the Conservation area every year to watch them. Magnificent. Yeah the mild weather the past few days was just a tease. Spring doesn't arrive here for Certain until the end of April.
