I haven’t read a Koontz book in a while. I just got “The Bad Weather Friend.” Are you a Koontz fan?
They made a movie from, Hideaway? Yikes, that had to be hard to watch in places. When I traveled for business in the 90's I read a number of Dean Koontz books. Funhouse and Hideaway in particular stick out in my mind because they were so twisted. I saw Hideaway at the theater. Movies usually pale in comparison to the book. I'm a Dean Koontz fan.
Can you be more specific about the different medium?I can't remember if it was from a DK book, there was some story which had somebody threatening someone else though a different medium than the normal one ... can anyone remember what story that might have come from ?![]()
Not really... just something I seem to have in the back of my mind...Can you be more specific about the different medium?
I think my daughter has read every DK book ever printed, at one time she was devouring them at a book a week...and as she finished them she sold them on Ebay... now she reads on a kindleI am. Watchers is one of my all time favorite books!
What was the "different" medium or the "normal" medium? Maybe with some hints we could figure out the story?I can't remember if it was from a DK book, there was some story which had somebody threatening someone else though a different medium than the normal one ... can anyone remember what story that might have come from ?![]()
I have trouble with his over describing as well.My one complaint about his writing style would be he gets a bit wordy and It stagnates the stories momentum in my opinion.
yes if only I could remember..it's all so very insignificant in my mind....What was the "different" medium or the "normal" medium? Maybe with some hints we could figure out the story?
I agree. His earlier books were more economical in language and his later books bordered on pretentiousness. However, he is still one of my favorite authors. I have two bookshelves of his first edition hardbacks (I am a bibliophile from way back.)I have trouble with his over describing as well.
I haven't read much of his work since the Odd Thomas series. I tried the Jane Hawk books once, but found them uninteresting. He seems, in his later work, overly focused on characters such that it becomes a hinderance to overall story creation.
