Over time I have read and heard horrible holiday or birthday celebration news stories of families actually shooting and killing each other, even children mistakenly losing their lives over what?
I wouldn't have cared for that either, @MACKTEXAS, especially if those were people one hasn't seen in awhile. The food was good, everyone was pleasant, yet it was one of the strangest Thanksgivings in memory. There were envelopes beside each of our plates with our names on them. Each envelope contained a list of clues to solve a murder mystery - a game which took place during the meal, and consumed the entire time. So, except for a few brief conversations with people before or after the meal, I have no idea how things were going in their real lives. It was not at all a kind of day I enjoyed. The best part was getting back home.
Yes, it sounds like the hostess way over thought it. Dinner and games should never be mixed, it's insulting to the cooks and stressful to the diners.I wouldn't have cared for that either, @MACKTEXAS, especially if those were people one hasn't seen in awhile.
Same here.must be nice to come from families that act like civilized human beings instead of scrappy hillbillies!
