Any Issues Getting Out and About.

CA things are still in lock down mode. Asking around banks close by 4pm no longer open on Saturday, same with some stores.

I notice a big rush from 1pm to 3pm before most stores close. Hard to plan.

Worried to take a long trip and get stuck.
How are things in your area??
 

Well, the bank I go to closes at 3 pm all week now--no more 6 pm on Fridays even....sheesh...In Ohio we are not in lockdown and many things are open later now however but I don't go out much so much. The restaurants and bars are open to 2 am now. I don't go to them either anymore.
 
Out here in Ventura County we are in the Orange Zone. We had lunch inside a restaurant on Friday.

Same here, still avoiding big crowded. spots such as a Mall and big box stores. My informs me maybe it will stay open until 5pm on Friday maybe. So I do a lot online...

Have not tried that yet, it would be nice if we got more information about who is open or not.
Also we have signs up fine, if not wearing a mask.

We're pretty open here in Central Florida. The tourist attractions are operating, at limited capacity. Restaurants and bars are open. There's an art festival this weekend and a renaissance festival over toward Tampa.

Wow that is nice, seems like forever no evens of any kind. No gem fair, we have farmers market except that is very spread out so lots of waking, few vendors...
 
British Columbia is only semi open. No dine in restaurants, takeout only. Gyms mostly closed. Spacing required in stores. The province has been divided into three travel zones. No recreational travel from one zone to another. Your reservations were cancelled if you had any.

Americans have been told to avoid Canada unless you absolutely must come for work, etc. You haven’t been able to come for non essential reasons for months. Our Covid numbers are rising and the hospitals can’t handle it. Over half of our cases are thought to be the variants. Elective surgeries have been cancelled.

What is stopping me is the variant and I hear maybe in May or June those that had the two top vaccines my get a shot for that variant.

I need to get eyeglasses soon and re-new my driving license. Not sure if they are open
 
The Scottish newspapers are carrying headlines such as "Happy Monday" as most shops and businesses are opening up again.
Still some restrictions on how many people can meet, and opening hours in restaurants and bars.

Having said that, for some time, there has been a more normal atmosphere here with food and household goods stores being open. Smaller shops, libraries, museums etc have been closed, and they are now open again.

Number of Covid cases has been falling steadily. Number of people in hospital is also falling and covid deaths are down to 1 to 2 a day.
 
Most shops open in England as well as Malls..., some cafe's, bars and restaurants open but for outside service only.Those without outside areas are not permitted to open. Some Gyms and leisure centres open .Hair salons open...

Banks only open until 3.30pm. instead of 5pm . no Saturday service now either..


Masks to be worn everywhere indoors including public transport

No-one permitted to accompany someone to a hospital appointment unless they are a carer...


Schools back..( this is from 2 weeks ago today) .. pretty much everything else still closed.. earliest promise of opening is May 17th , where we may be permitted to eat indoors at restaurants

Like Chris said, things pretty much open here in Florida. People out and about and most are still wearing masks. Grocery store looks back to normal, at least where we shop at Publix. At the end of April we are giving up home delivery and going back to the grocery store. Will still wear our masks for awhile.
 
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia ... everything open here ... no masks or restrictions ... no COVID.
Thank goodness for strict border controls and mandatory hotel quarantine for returning overseas travellers.

Our beaches are all open, we were there just 3 days ago....no masks needed unless indoor of any kind ( we travelled on the pier train and masks were required)

Fairground still closed until at least May 17th if Not later into June

In Virginia most things are open. There is a mask mandate and some places only have limited capacity. I have been doing curb side pickup for food and buying a lot on-line but I think I will go back to the grocery store in May now that I am vaccinated. I am not ready for big places like Walmart yet and will continue to buy a lot on-line. I have discovered it is easier anyway. We rarely ate out even before Covid so that isn't an issue.

No problem getting out here. But I don't do much anyway, shopping or hair appointments. In May, I have a dental appointment. Racing season opened and I see pictures of that on fakebook. I don't think movie theaters are open yet but not sure. The one near me is closed down for good I think.
 
With the exception of those stores and places stupidly still requiring masks, we're free as a bird. I say stupidly because few people are now wearing them any other time or place, making their utility at one particular point rather moot.
 
Our rural area has seen minimal impact. Some of the stores require masks, but that is really Not being enforced....rather, masks are offered at the entry for those who are concerned about the spread of this virus. The local restaurants are pretty much back to normal, but the fast food joints are still drive thru or carry out. The infection and death rates in these rural areas remain a fraction of the numbers being seen in the crowded cities. Local vaccination sites have seen excellent turnout, and that is helping to keep the numbers low.
 
In Nebraska most things are open and have been for some time. The little town I live in rejected a mask mandate so you see some people wearing, others not. All of the restaurants here are open for dine-in, only the fast food places are not.

Omaha still has a mask mandate and most places enforce it. I know of a pizza place that I guess wasn't enforcing it and they got fined $5,000. I went to the Old Market area in Omaha this weekend and it looked to have a normal crowd again, I was happy to see.

That is great to hear, I have not tested any actual restaurants in my area, did notice, a few have outside sitting set up and some stores metering customers into their stores. The hard part is the store's hours are still limited...

Australia and New Zealand did it correctly, right from the start. Also they didn’t dilly dally around with their crackdowns.

Some cities are giving permission for creating expanded patio seating for restaurants.

JMO, banks and stores now have an good excuse to have shorter hours. How much retail business did they do in evenings.
