The post with Sam Elliott made me think of my old crush...Robert Urich. I absolutely adored him as Dan Tana on Vega$ (1978). He had other shows..but that was his best to me. I also loved him in Lonesome Dove...but hated that they hung him so soon..lol Sadly, he passed away in 2002 at age 55...but oh my..he's the only big tv crush I ever had.

yes, he was good in that too. He always struck me as just a really nice guy. It's funny too..I got married the year that show started..and wouldn't miss an episode..my husband would be like.."Hey Honey..your boyfriend is on." Just good memories.
 

Urich was a wonderful actor and person, especially loved by my mother, due to his ethnicity being similar to ours (He was Ruso-Slovak). He died at only 55, stricken with a very rare form of synovial malignancy. He had the similar, dark complected looks of Tom Selleck and Ernie Kovacs, both of whom my Mother was dead certain were of Czechoslovak heritage. We were very "Nationality conscious" in old Chicagoland. imp
