What game do you play? Limit or no limit. How often?I play at the I get taken to the cleaners level.
True...have you ever played in Vegas? Have you ever had the opportunity to play Limit...a 2/4 limit game would be a good start for you. Also tournament play would give you a chance to really get ahead. You have many years and hours of play.it sounds like.I like to play low limit...1$/2$..."Texas Holdem" when we go to the casinos. I've played since I was in the military, decades ago, and with friends, over the years. I've watched WSOP and WPT on TV, for years, and play on their web sites, for free. If I were a lot younger, I would think seriously about buying into one of these big tournaments, but I'm getting too old to stand that kind of stress, for several days in a row.
I usually play online for a hour nearly every day, and on bad weather days, or while this Stay at Home stuff is going on, I find myself playing even more. It's great Mental exercise.

Your only as old as you feel. Playing the slots is a real money pit. Sounds like you have a pretty good game on you. Final table is not an easy feat by any means. When we go to Vegas, I just play the slots, as we jump from casino to casino. Once a year, I buy into a local tournament at Harrah's, in Kansas City, where the 1st prize is an all expenses paid entry into the WSOP. The best I've done was to make the final table, and come in 4th....which paid me a nice prize. But, like I said before, I'm getting too old to do this for 10+ hours/day, for a week, or more....so my dream of winning millions of dollars is just a dream.

True. We moved to Vegas 5 years ago after my retirement. We don’t dare calculate our win/loss. At this point in our life it’s all about our quality of life. If we weren’t here we would be somewhere with the kids babysitting 24/7 and the kids are totally ungrateful. They have the attitude they are doing us a favor by giving us something to do. My husband has found a nice little job with no stress that he loves. Our next big move is to do a little RVing and travel to poker tournaments along the way.For years, Doyle Brunson was my "poker hero", and I really enjoyed watching him play. I think he's probably well over 80 years old, by now, and I haven't seen him participating in any of these big tournaments in years. Now, most of the players who make the final tables seem to be in the age group of 25 to 40 years old. Since I'm approaching 78, I probably wouldn't last much past the 2nd or 3rd day....at best.
Yeah, slots are a waste of money, most of the time. However, we probably spend 20 to 25 days at a casino, every year, and I pull our win/loss statements every year. We generally "blow" between 4 to 6 thousand a year, but if you compare that to a 5 day cruise, for example, we get 4 or 5 times the Entertainment value, per dollar, than a cruise would give us.

How sweet...in my family it’s all about what their going to get. That is exactly why we are enjoying what little we have.Yes, Retirement can be quite nice IF a person is able to enjoy their time and money....rather than having to stress out over buying groceries, or spending their money on health issues. Our kids are great, and doing well, and joke about us leaving just enough to cover our funerals....suits me.
Good for him. I never knew how to play craps but the crap tables seem to generate the most noise so I suppose it’s great funMy dad's game was craps. He did quite well!
I play Gin Rummy and Texas Holdem online..Play money!!!Although I love the game I don't feel like I'm good enough to play when there is real money at stake. I prefer playing dealer's choice as opposed to Texas hold'em. I tend to prefer seven card stud high low or similar games where players share some of the same cards.
