Talking with some guys in Dallas at work and they said it was FREEZING at the moment but had the AC on the day before. That's how cold fronts blow across the middle of the country for sure.

TG, this is not all that unusual in Texas. I have see it be 85 degrees and by late afternoon drop to 35. They call this a blue northern. The weather can fluctuate wildly there. Once, I was in Plainview, Texas and when I arrived the weather was very warm, and I had worn light clothes. The next morning I got dressed to drive back to the airport and when I opened the motel room door, I was shocked and almost fell over. It was snowing with about two inches of accumulation already. That's how fast the weather changes in Texas!

Was stationed in Texas in the sixties and remember exactly that. Blistering hot one day and freezing rain the next. Never heard the term Blue Northern. Perfect!

Drifter is right...the big freeze did not amount to much here...its in the lower 40's, but no parcipatation today.
