Any Walking Dead fans here?

AMC + has revised the Walking Dead series bringing back Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). The first episode in the 6 episode series aired last night. Without giving a spoiler, I will say it was FABULOUS! 👏

I loved TWD! I thought Abraham was a great character and went too soon. I also thought the same about Merle Dixon. Two characters who would have really challenged Negan's crew

I don't have AMC and am not going to sign up to yet another streaming device just to watch it. I think Norman Reedus and Carol Peletier are also doing a spin off too.

Merle Dixon vs Negan...I wished for that, too. But Merle was fickle and enticed by power. He'd probly have become a Neganite.

Reedus did finish a new series last year, where he'd somehow ended up in France, and it looks like they planned a second season that brings Carol in, but I don't know if it attracted enough interest.

I watched it for a long time but it got too "complicated". Too much stuff going on. Too many plots to follow.
It got too repetitive and monotonous. It started out asking "If society had to start over, would it evolve like societies throughout history?" and then basically showed corruption, betrayals and power struggles at the top, militia, foragers and organizers in the middle, and drains on society at the bottom.

But it veered off that path. It started pandering to a few fan-bases. It got sappy and cringy, too surreal and unrelatable. And it bugged the crap outa me that the main characters wore the same *iconic* costumes for like a decade. I mean, jeebus; thousands of abandoned malls....hello-o.

The show had gotten too much rinse, repeat. I think the Saviors timeline and then that Alpha woman was my "had enough." Until last night :)

I tried watching some of the spin offs but they didn't hold my interest. I stopped for good when the zombies went off the cliff on WD and didn't bother with the newest spin offs. I love Carol and Daryl, but they should have hooked up in WD and had a zombie killer love child.

The place where WD is filmed is a few hours from me. My daughter and I went on two tours of "everything" and I got to have this picture taken. Since you're speaking of Merle.
Disclaimer: That gun is a water pistol and the "governor" was kind enough to let me take him out. My daughter was appalled. 🤣

You are probably right but, I didn't see Merle as a follower.

As much as I liked Reedus in the role of Daryl, I thought his character became too predictable and, to me, Reedus seemed bored.

Lucky you! :)

I just happened to tune in AMC last night, didn't know about the new TWD series.

Season 1-6 were the best. I didn't like Negan being elevated in status, I felt he should have got the same as he gave Abraham and Glenn.
I agree. I think it got lost in the end although, some of the last episodes were good.

Absolutely. We watched it for a while, then gave it a pass when it got convoluted and had too many characters.

We've now been watching it again since they introduced the episodes featuring the major characters. We watched The World Beyond, Dead City and Daryl Dixon and are hooked again. We are already recording The Ones Who Live. We love Rick and Micchone.

Have you watched The Last of Us? It is phenomenal.

I cared about the characters, some more than others and I was sorry to see some of them killed off, but given the nature of the world the fictional world was set in, it would have been unreasonable if some of the characters didn't get killed.
And the manner of Rick as well as Michonne's exit left open the possibility of their return.
OK, I allowed myself to buy into the basically unlikely, essentially preposterous premise that the Walking Dead world is based on......it's a fiction, a fantasy, a dystopian image that defies all biological common sense........I mean, really.......those zombie walking dead? Science doesn't support the idea that they could maintain the energy levels to shuffle around like they do feeding like they do.......
So I don't care. I've always liked the series and I'm watching the spinoffs.
And I really like Carol.
