Any Walking Dead fans here?

I always wondered how Darryl managed to look that greasy and scruffy ALL the time for years. I mean, did he NEVER take a bath or wash his hair?
Yeah, there was way too much of that kind of thing. It was distracting, and that's a shame because I was really into the main story. I watched it anyway, but man, I was sick of seeing Michonne in the leather thing and Rick's generational cowboy hat and all that .. I swear sometimes I could smell it.

I've seen Norman Reedus interviewed several times and he sounds more like a California Valley Boy than the hillbilly character he plays.

He's a nice person.

Up until last year my son and his family did a lot of cosplay and attended at least 4 comic-cons a year, and I made most of their costumes. One year, when my granddaughter Ariel was 9, she cosplayed Norman Reedus's Daryl Dixon. Her hair is dark and it was just the right length at the time; she wore the jeans & the boots and I made her the leather vest with the angel wings on the back, and her mom made her hair look a bit greasy and stringy and gave her little face a 5 o'clock shadow - she looked great! Cute as hell.

Anyway, one of the pro photographers that go to these conventions took a photo of her and sent it to Reedus. Then Reedus sent Ariel a little letter telling her how much he loved it and all that, plus he drew a little Daryl cartoon next to his signature, and he actually mentioned her on a video...some interview he did with a YouTuber.

Ariel was over the moon!

No!
I can never figure out my fellow Americans facination with flesh eating zombies. It's disgusting! I've worked with with people who watch the show. I'd always tell them that I'd rather waste my time watching those stupid sharknado movies. I blame George Romero for that. Prior to his forgettable 1968 movie, the undead were just killers. Zombies were the creation of mad scientists. He turned them into flesh eating cannabals.
To this day, I refuse to watch that stuff.
🤢

As a horror fan, I have watched and enjoyed The Walking Dead, the original series more than Fear the Walking Dead. The new spinoffs appear promising as well. What appalls me is that some young children have been allowed to watch the series in light of its graphic gory nature. I can remember being scared by some 1950’s-1960’s SyFy and horror films as a child, and they were less believable and not the nightmare fuel that current zombie offerings are… 🙀

Absolutely. We watched it for a while, then gave it a pass when it got convoluted and had too many characters.

We've now been watching it again since they introduced the episodes featuring the major characters. We watched The World Beyond, Dead City and Daryl Dixon and are hooked again. We are already recording The Ones Who Live. We love Rick and Micchone.

Have you watched The Last of Us? It is phenomenal.
No, I got burned out with all the spin offs. I might look for that one since the WD craze is once upon me. :)

I did enjoy it for several seasons but eventually the violence became too much and the story line thinned out.

Even after all the drama and weird stuff with Alpha, I was still a fan. Then, I got rid of cable TV and went streaming channel crazy. Except for AMC. Not really, but I had to draw the line somewhere. Now I’m watching for “free” the first episode of this new series…I’m already hooked. What’s one more streaming channel subscription anyways????

We just watched the first episode of the new series and we're in as well! If they'd made the plot of the main series this tight and focused on just a few characters I don't think it would have lost its audience. These spin-offs are great!

I watched the pilot episode for all of what may have been 5 - 7 minutes and decided it wasn't for me. Not even one of my favorites, Jeffrey Dean Morgan  could get me to watch. Too much gore for my taste, yet I knew several people who were really into it.

I liked the early seasons of "Fear the Walking Dead" especially the 1st.

I was hoping we were going to get the origins of the zombie plague but sadly it didn't come to us there.
The last seasons of "Fear" were some of the worst written TV ever produced. Characters survived a nuclear bomb by hiding under a car? The people had to wear masks yet the horses were fine? They'd be wearing masks then walk a few feet and "Oh, the air is fine here we can take off our masks"??? Just horrible writing.
