Anybody here follow football?

I'm a Doncaster Rovers fan. We're facing a relegation battle this season but I seem to recall we nicked a point off your boys earlier this month!

I'm an Arsenal fan myself, currently interlocked in an epic duel with the local riffraff. I do hope the Hammers can find some form in time to be promoted and claim their brand new stadium. I have to say I hope United pip the billionaires to the post, for the good of the game!

But, of course, you're talkin' . . . soccer... HA! I do enjoy it and am learning more about rugby which I find fascinating. Now, as for American football . . . I love the collegiate game with all its energy and excited student body. Pro sports, in general, I find . . . lacking.

One of the few television channels I pull in as Spanish language and they show a lot of games from Latin America. Pretty wild stuff!

Yes i follow my local team Newcastle United, ( Magpies......Toonarmy ), playing Football not Soccer :(. Had a hard day today we played Queens Park Rangers, and after a nail biting and stressful match we just managed to stay up in the premier league, by a 2-1 win away from home. Dont think my poor old heart can take this sress any more, off for a lie down.

NB. why is American Football so called, as its nearer to rugby and feet dont play a major part ? :)

My hubby watches and follows the game during football season. Here's a pic of my Manx cat, Loki, enjoying the game too...

Well, Planxty, I'm not a sports historian but guessing you are right about American football coming more from rugby. I think there was more kicking in the beginning and they do use there feet for running at least which is a pretty important part of moving the ball. Not sure why we call fubol . . . soccer. Guess it's gotta be differentiated in our minds...

As for American football: GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!
