Anybody here using Zoom?

My family has set up a Zoom "Happy Hour" for this evening. Supposedly, if we can all get it to work, we log in and see/hear each other in separate boxes on the screen, and have a group conversation. I think it will look like The Brady Bunch, as there will be at least 10 of us.

Of course, being the old lady of the group, I'm having the most trouble getting it to work, but yesterday my daughter in CA and I managed to have a nice conversation. We've also been using Facetime, but I think Zoom is supposed to be better for regularly scheduled events. Our Happy Hour is scheduled for twice a week.

I never even heard of any of this stuff until a couple of days ago. But it seems to be up and coming as the best way for families to interact in these isolated times.

I've only just heard of it. My daughter (who is the senior lecturer) is using it as she can't do face to face lecturing or tutoring because of the Coronavirus.

I must look into it, but the internet here is far too slow for video.

I have done video conferencing with Zoom. It works well, especially if you download the app. Oh yeah and it’s free, unlike GoToMeeting.

A friend set it up so family could gather to celebrate her mom's 97th birthday. It went great. 4 kids, 30 plus grand kids and great grandkids

It worked fine, was lots of fun. We are scattered all over the country, and this was a great way to bring us all together and catch up. We're doing it again Friday.

I tried to join in on a church meeting with Zoom.....picture part worked well, but a screen opened and told me my browser isn't compatible with the audio part.

Respondering, I got the same thing (no sound) the first time I tried it. I was using Firefox. When I changed my browser to Chrome, it worked fine. The odd thing was, the next time I tried it using Firefox, and this time it worked, sound and all!

Ah, computers.
