Anybody hungover?

Not me, but in my younger years I used to have some doozies that took twenty-four hours to recover from...:(

Just another evening here..Went to bed about 9:30, woke up at Midnight with the sounds of the neighbors celebrating, just turned over and went back to sleep...

No alcohol since Christmas Eve 1971. (That's an entire story in itself.) Went to New Year's Eve service at our church. 6 p.m. service. Stopped at Subway on the way home. We had some $3 for 6" sub coupons. Brought those home, ate, and was sound asleep by 10 p.m. Dog did not like the fireworks and such. She came in and woke us up. Otherwise, would have slept right through it all.

Not since my 21st.

1 bottle of Newcastle Brown (aka Electric Soup)and 1bottle of Der Gute Pott 54% over proof rum that a friend had brought back from a term at a German university.

I was very very unwell and missed two rather important lectures as a result.

That was the one and only time that was even remotely under the weather.

No more boozy hangovers for me either. 5 to 6 hours of blurred fun isn't worth the 10-12 hour feeling of "wanting the world to end" anymore.

We were a bit "hungover" last night...but Not from booze. We had our 10 year old Great Granddaughter here for most of the week, while school is out....and she pretty well wore us out by the time her parents came by yesterday afternoon to take her back home. We hit the sack about 10PM, and if there were any New Year celebrations going on in the area, we sure didn't hear them.

No hangovers here, we did decide to open up a bottle of wine we had stored in the basement pantry since 2012, I had one glass and my husband had less than half a glass of it, it was very good. Rare occasion when we drink wine. Was in bed before midnight and still awake in bed when the neighbors started blowing off fireworks at midnight. Greeting the new year bright eyed and bushy tailed. :sunglass:Great photo there CurlyQ!

. You tried to store the Nouveaux? But that wine is intended as close to the third Thursday in November as possible!

The point in fermentation that the wine is released is exceptionally early and the fermentation is often stopped by the addition of sulphides. The belief that many people have that a Red always improves with age is far from true though as a general rule most good Red wine will improve over up to ten years. The same is not true for plonk when most will peak at around five years after being bottled.

To add, there is a general rule that when it comes to cooking with wine never use a wine that would be good to glug!

Thank goodness, no hangovers here. I went to sleep about 7:30 in my chair and didn't wake up until 10:45. There was a note from the Spousal Equivalent asking me to wake him at 11:45. We watched the ball drop, stepped out the front door to watch the fireworks from around the neighborhood and went to bed.

I know about that, but we've had it new and old in past years and it tastes great either way, not worried about rules on these things, never cook with wine. But thanks for pointing that out Aeron, some folks don't know about Nouveau. But I'd recommend if they want to hold onto it for awhile, go for it!

Hangover?? Nope

But I do have a case of Dunlap* disease I need to treat in the coming year.

(*That's when your belly is lapping over your belt...)

I nearly finished a whole bottle of strawberry pop by myself. That was enough for me along with neighborhood fireworks going intermittently from 8 pm to 1 am.
