Anybody with Firefox problems??

I've been having problems with Firefox. It's super slow and crashes often. I never had a problem with it. Supposedly, there was problem with an update?????
Anybody else having issues with Firefox?
Same here. Started slowing down and freezing a few months ago. I finally dumped it.

I'm using Firefox 134.0.1, I have all updates disabled but Mozilla Gorilla has started always updating it anyway. I just uninstall it, and reinstall 134.0.1 again. I have had more problems with Windows 10's Layout and Scaling Bug. If you increase the font size to anything other than "125% (Recommended)", everything in several programs gets so big it's unmanageable, which included all Mozilla software. And oddly enough, even some Micro$oft software.

If this happened to you, there is a way to fix Firefox and Thunderbird. Let me know if you need it and I'll look for it in my mountain of text files I keep notes in. :)

I think it depends on which version of Windows you have with their updates clashing with FF updates. It's like trying to hit a moving target.

Exactly... Which is why I always have their updates disabled. However, recently they have ignore that setting twice. Firefox was easy to fix. Thunderbird was another matter. The first time when I reinstalled the version I was using, it was fine. Then two days later they updated it again and I lost all of my contacts, emails, settings... The works. Let's just say I was a little irate after that. I sent them an email stating as much and it didn't do any good at all. But I worked it out. I sure won't ever use Outlook or Micro$oft 365 again. Both are utter garbage.

I'm using Firefox on a MacBook Pro. My current irritation is with a Firefox feature named Pocket. When you open a new tab, Pocket shows an array of icons on the Firefox screen that are clickable shortcuts to certain sites. Some of them represent sites I go to often, but I suspect others have a commercial or transactional relationship with the Mozilla company that developed & owns Firefox.

Problem is, I have not been able to figure out how to get rid of some of those icons that are irrelevant to me, and replace them with other shortcuts I'd prefer.

Using Firefox version 128.5.0esr (64-bit) in Debian Linux, no problems here. One of my laptops ruining Ubuntu Linux sometimes experiences a "page not found" when initially opening Firefox. I haven't been motivated enough to seek a solution, I just click on a bookmark and go about my business.

None noted except for occasional page not found i.e. @Nathan I use Manjaro (Linux) & clear everything with 'Bleachbit' before logging off.

I always had problems with Firefox, so stopped using it over a decade ago. Can't remember if the problems occurred only when I had the Mac, which I switced to in 2007, or also when I had a PC before that. I have a PC again (running Windows 11), but wouldn't bother to try Firefox because of prior problems.

Sometimes, Firefox has to be updated manually, depending on operating system and how configured.
To do so ...
Click on the 3bars in the upper right of Firefox > Help > About Firefox ... and it will automatically check for updates.

EDIT: If using Firefox on a mobile phone, go to the app store and see if a newer download pops up.

I think the problem is the security associated with Firefox. I use it now .....7 years or more.
They are different than edge or chrome or safari for that matter. Never the less, regardless of the headaches. Read the reviews. Firefox comes up there pretty close with others in the security range. Concidering cost, Firefox is a good choice.
Nothing is guranteed and no browser is perfect. None of them!
I think you are safer on Firefox. I feel that way. But I understand the frustration. Been there, done that.
Still think Firefox is the best.

Me, too.

You still have to watch your interaction with any browser. Use caution!
