Anyone but Cruz

I watched Cruz win elections in Texas by riding in on the religious right's coattail.

I agree with his peers, he is the lowest of the low.

Talk about everyones' worst nightmare!

Why... the Dems would take back the Senate... gain seats in the house and perhaps regain some State Houses too.. Republican leaders here in Illinois are already discussing how disastrous a Trump nomination would be here.. Tammy Duckworth will mop the floor with Mark Kirk and that would be one Senate seat gained back .

Whose blood? From what I can see... there is NOTHING that is going to take Trump down.. The RNC is paralyzed with fear of a Trump candidacy.. and knows what it needs to do to stop him.... but won't do it. What needs to be done is for every candidate but ONE.. drop out and all their supporters rally behind that candidate. Of course Cruz want's that to be him.. he is following Trump around eating the remains of Ben Carson and whoever else will drop out... BUT.. that's the problem the GOP has... NO ONE is going to drop out.. WHY? Well.. thank Citizens United and the vast money in their super pacs.. This ruling was celebrated by the GOP... Now it's looking like it's going to bite them in the ass.

While you may be right about the impact on the Democratic side, the thought of having Trump or Cruz in the Whitehouse would be a disaster for this country. Would you want either one of those guys picking folks for the Supreme Court? I sure wouldn't. Both are polarizing figures who I think would further divide this already fractured nation. I shudder to think about our foreign relations should either of them be elected.

I see your point here, which I missed upon first reading it. A ticket that devisive would surely be a boon for the Dems. I had immediately gone to the unthinkable: Trump/Cruz winning the Presidency. Shudder.

Of course I wouldn't... I am going to put my faith in the General Election. NO ONE has ever won the White House with less than 30% of the Hispanic vote.. Romney had 27%.. Right now Trump is polling at 11%. AND that's not taking the Black and other minority votes into consideration. Trump OR Cruz cannot win solely on the White male vote.

Hitler was able to incite the masses to spill a little blood. Trump and Cruz without inciting some more than they have could cause blood to be spilled, if it not already is...

Well you could be right.. They have the ability to play to the "darker angels" of the very far Right. I suppose, considering how heavily armed they are, they could be incited to take up those arms and start shooting up more Planned Parenthood clinics.. or Democratic campaign offices.. and killing more innocent people.

We even have them in our little state. I saw them come out of the woods one day in a brown pickup in camouflage outfits with American flags flying and rifles in a gun rack...

Well, for the moment they call themselves survivalists as they see governments at all levels collapsing and they are preparing to survive without them. However, they could get stirred up enough to become proactive in helping to bring down governments. After all, they see a black, Muslim, non-citizen as president who is working for a cabal of people from around the world to make our country part of some international entity, so who knows when the time will be right...

All I need to know about Cruz I figured out when I did one of those "Who's Your Candidate?" quizzes. He was at the bottom of my results.

What must it be like for Cruz and Trump to know that they have little support from the leaders of their own party? The quotes in Bruni's column were pretty brutal. The Republican National Committee must be beside themselves with Trump's popularity, and not in a good way. Logic would usually dictate that Trump and Cruz would ultimately fade, but doesn't seem to be happening.

Trump and Cruz believe they have the majority of Americans behind them oddly enough.. It's like the blind man who felt only the elephants tail and describe an elephant to be very much like a snake. They are not seeing the entire picture but are blinded by the loud adoration of their minority.

I see little chance of either of them winning the general election, but who knows how much mud will be thrown at (presumptive Dem nominee) HRC? She's got some baggage, but is the most experienced IMHO. I can't see any minority groups voting for Trump or Cruz, unless they are right wing Christian conservatives.
