Anyone Else Cranking Their Heat Up Higher Tonight?

Right now at 6:30 a.m., it's 30 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 Centigrade) outside.

We keep the place around 70F degrees. Not willing to don outdoor winter clothes to live inside.

My bedroom is always cold. Tonight I am wearing fleece pants, a cotton turtleneck and a fleece pullover designed to be worn outside. My bedclothes include a down comforter, a wool blanket, a fleece blanket, and a cotton quilt. I am not cold. We don't turn the heat up, leave it at 70 and with all the windows from 1954, the house is very leaky. I'd rather it leak cold air in than have it not letting any air in at all. Much preferred would be that I lived on a tropical island.
I hear you. A tropical island sounds real good to me right now. I just came out from under my heavy blanket. Took a nice nap. Can't do much else with this coldness.

I turn the heat off at night to save money. Don my wool blankets instead.
But I changed over from propane to Natural gas heat, so it is cheaper.
It takes three hours to heat the house in the morning though.

I never thought of turning the heat completely off when I go to bed. We'd all freeze when it's 0 wind chill or like 0 f outside. I also have a bird so I'm sometimes worried about turning the heat down to 68f.

I turned it down to 71 last night because there was a chill in the air.

Has it been very cold and drafty?
It sure has been! Putting large cardboards between the curtain/shade and the windows, for the nightimes, this week. It does help.
I also wear cozy layers, especially at night, and put extra blankets on the bed.
The cat looks so cute. If I could curl my back into a ball, and cover my face with my hands and feet, like she does, there'd be no problems, with the cold, or in the world! :giggle: :ROFLMAO::giggle:

Same here with cold and drafty. That's a good idea with the large cardboards! I've never thought about that but I have many of them stored in my one closet in case I move again. They are from when I first moved in here in 2012. I have already put up some plastic on the front window that is drafty and it did help some but I couldn't completely seal the AC and it's a bit of a draft from there. Turning the heat up sure helps--I get it real real cozy in here at times like yesterday and the day before.

Your cat sounds like a sweetie--I love cats! My dog curls up in her doggie bed but sometimes wants up into my bed to get my body heat. So we snuggle up at times. She doesn't curl up in a ball in the bed but sprawls out leaving me a whole food left on the bed! LOL :p 🐶 No more problems with the cold or world would be the best gift to the whole world I'd say!🌹:giggle:(y)
