Anyone Else Do Regular Factory Resets On Their Phones?

I've just factory reset my phone and am now wondering why I didn't do it much sooner. My phone has been at 98% capacity (no matter how much I've uninstalled and deleted, how spare my apps are) for about a year.

I plugged it into my PC, transferred pictures, etc. (the very few I keep on my phone) and factory reset.

I've just finished loading the last of the apps I need (and unloaded the ton of bloatware that came back) and it's now at 60% capacity and running nicely.

Ima do this every few months or so, I think.

I don't know what kind of phone you have but it's gotta be in settings somewhere.
And if you open "settings," there's likely to be a "search" option wherein you can simply type, "factory reset."
That's what I did.

Though I don't know a lot about it and you could have a completely different set up... :/ lol
 

It’s something I have never done, nor really thought about. But now that I look at the ‘storage’ on my iPhone, I see that less than a quarter of it is assigned to Apps. Maybe less than 5% assigned as Messages, but a whopping 35 to 40% is listed as ‘Other’, whatever that might be.

I wonder now that if I were to do a factory reset, then would that ‘Other’ disappear and give me more space on my phone, even after loading everything back on again. If so, then I’m glad you have pointed this out. :)
 
I never do a factory reset on my iPhone unless there is a serious malfunction of some kind. They do have a re-start procedure, which is much simpler than erasing the phone and then re-loading everything back on it again, and this seems to stop most issues.
Also, be sure to do a complete backup before you try to any kind of a factory reset, and be sure that you know what ALL of your passwords are for everything online, because you will need to be able to sign into every single thing and will need the proper passwords.

Yes, I mentioned having backed up my phone to my pc before resetting. I did have to re-sign-in to all my apps, but for me this is no big deal as they are all also on my PC and I do have my passwords written down in hard copy. I think that's good advice though, about the passwords.

Yeah, mine is a Samsung Galaxy SJ7 (remember, the bomb? LOL). So, it's really old.
