Anyone else ever have to wear a Holter monitor

I had something similar. I had applied lotion after my morning shower not expecting more than a consultation. The nurse slapped the things on without cleaning the area and I assumed she knew what she was doing. They kept falling off the rest of the day. Once I washed they stuck as they were supposed to.

I wore one for a week and gad to record each heart flutter. I ended up getting a nuclear X-Ray and after that, I had a heart catheterization performed. I get premature ventricular contractions (PVC’s), which aren’t anything to worry about, but they are uncomfortable. I hardly ever get them since I was put on Atenolol. They started after I graduated from the PSP Academy.

Still awaiting results. I messaged the doctor earlier this week and the reply was "We haven't received a report yet." It's was September 24th that I returned the monitor. That makes me think they don't do the analysis there, but have another service do it.

PVC's can be distressing when you don't know what they are.

I had my first bout of them in the middle of the night, thought my heart was skipping beats, called the 24-hour nurse line my insurance company offers and she said to go to the emergency room.

Off we went at 2 a.m. and they kept me for two days, of course performing all kind of tests before saying it was, according to the cardiologist, "PVCS with a few PACs thrown in for comic relief".

He said when I get them, do jumping jacks until they stop. It usually works. I guess it "shocks" the heart and it quits PVCing.

I cant do jumping jacks but someone told me that a loud cough might do it.

I went to John’s Hopkins in Baltimore to get my diagnosis. After they checked my heart with an EKG for 4 times throughout the day and then read the Halter Monitor, the Cardiologist told me I was having PVC’s. I asked him to explain what that is and that’s when he told me they were PVC’s or Premature Ventricular Contractions.

He told me they are caused by the brain not giving the heart the proper signals of when to beat. Mine were caused by either stressful moments or when I would sometimes jog. Since I started using Atenolol about 15 years ago, they have stopped. My catheterization showed that my heart is of normal size with no blockages and a small amount of calcium deposits, but not enough to be concerned.

PVC’s aren’t dangerous, but they are a nuisance.

Almost certainly so

The ones we do where I work get uploaded to the company and company sends back a report.

Still no word on the heart monitor test. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow I returned it to the doctor's office. No use messaging the doctor, he already told me he'd let me know when he received the report.
