Anyone Ever Bitten By A Pet Or Non-Pet Animal?

As a young woman, I accidentally trod on the cat's tail and it turned around and gave me a big bite on the foot/ankle. Couldn't really blame the cat. Anyway, the bite was pretty deep, got infected, and turned into a very big deal.

I once took in a stray black cat. He got attacked by something one night (we thought it was a possum) and got one of his eyes tore up a bit. Vet wanted me to put drops in his eyes a couple times a day but, Midnight wasn't havin it. I kept having to drag him out from under the car by the scruff of his neck. One night he got mad and bit me between the knuckles right next to a vein. Hand got pretty swollen. I told that cat that day...I said if you don't want your medicine then I guess you'll have to take the chance of losing an eye.

He never would let me put anymore in. About a month or 2 later, it was a windy afternoon and his eye was watering and he was meowing for sympathy and I told him it was his own fault. ~Grins~

No worries there Pinky. I loved him but he just didn't wanna let me take care of him. He could see and everything. But the lid never healed right. I don't know if the drops burned real bad or if he just didn't like having to be kept pinned to get them cuz he fought me so much. Poor guy. Whatever it was that got him....he spent a week in hiding & then he spent a week bulking up with tree climbing. We figured if it ever came back it would get it's butt kicked. LOL

This happened years ago,one winter weekend I was house& dog sitting with our family dog,'TY,a golden retriever while my folks were away
TY loved winter, jumping and sitting in the snow piles.I brought her back into the 'mud room'proceeded to rub her down with a towel, try to get some of the snow that was stuck in her paws. For some reason she didn't like that so she bit me,nothing serious but I was surprised.I told her 'you are a bad,bad dog'.I walked away, ignored her
I was in the den reading, next thing I know she was nugging her nose under my elbow, giving me the sad brown eyes'I'm sorry look'.I tried to get back to my reading to no avail, then she put her head in my lap

Many years ago a friend's cat bit me hard on the wrist and wouldn't let go. My friend had to pull him off. The next day my entire arm swelled up and there was a lot of pain. Had to take antibiotics to get rid of the infection.

This cat was always nipping at everyone previously, but after biting me he got "brave" and bit her husband too. They had to get rid of him (the cat, that is!) because they had two young children.

Interesting question, famdog44...

Bitten by a dog at the age of four on my knee when I tried to eat his dog food.

Bitten by a bat at the age of 22 while working at a children's home.

Bitten by a pit bull while riding a bicycle when I was in my 30's.

Bitten by a cat having a seizure a few years ago when I tried to give her mouth to mouth.

Bitten by patients a couple of times working as a psych nurse.

Love bites don't count, do they?

I was just reminded of a story my high school sweetie told me:

As a child, a playmate of hers was bitten by the family dog- not badly, just a little nip, but the little girl cried out.

The little girl's father immediately punished the dog. The little girl said, "But the dog didn't mean it".

The father asked her how she could know this.

She replied, "Because he smiled at me right before he bit me!"

Putting a black lab into an outside kennel at the animal shelter, he was so excited that as I closed the door he jumped and took a chunk out of my finger. He was just having fun, not aggressive or angry.

According to The Book of Lists, labs are on the top five breeds of dogs who will not bite!

When I was a teen I was walking past a house on a busy street and a big german shepherd dog came running at me and bit me right on my butt. I tried to walk away as calmly as I could and then when there were no more cars on the road I crossed and luckily the dog did not follow me.

Last summer we got some of our neighbor's mail so I walked next door to give it to them. I rang the bell and when the door opened a 2-lb Yorkie charged me and bit my ankle. Those little needle-teeth were surprisingly effective. 🐶

If a cat isn't in the mood to be rubbed, they will sometimes close their jaws around your hand not exerting penetrative pressure just to let you know what they could do to you if they wanted, and that you should bug off. It's important to read those signals... 😾

Good lord the list is endless....
lost count the number of times bloods been drawn from various critters over the years...
Hell my daughter just bit me the other day... Huge bruise on my arm....

When I was just a little boy.
Running home from picking up something at the corner store.
I was running my hand on top of a wire fence that had those curved tops.
A German Sheperd on the other side of the fence jumped up and bit my hand and punctured it.
My father took me to the doctor for fear of infection.
The owner blamed me and falsely said I teased the dog. I didn't. Since then I have a mortal fear of German Sheperds. Trust me. That bit hurt big time.
Actually I love dogs but I really don't trust them all that much as a stranger.
I always try to make friends with the neighbors dogs. Their owners are always obliging.
It stops them from barking at you.

Yup, years ago a pup just playing bit me enough to bleed. I grabbed him bit his ear till he yelped, he never bit anyone he knew again. Someone breaking is another matter, lol,

When i was about 10, my friend was pulling me on my roller skates, and their dog ,thought i was playing and jumped up on me as i was being pulled, and bit my bum ......😟😫
Mum took me to the hospital, as the skin had broken and I was bleeding,
I had a Tetanus....i was very wary of dogs after that .....😢
