Anyone ever "play Darts"..

In my youth I was always in the pub, and Darts was a great way to have some enjoyment.
I was a member of the Four Seasons Dart Club. The season ran for about 5 - 6 months over the Autumn/Winter months.
At the end of the season the club would have a trip away to another town. Usually in the North West of Tasmania.
I was a very average player, only once did I score the maximum 180 during competition.
My highest finish was 154.

every Friday evening a long time ago in ye olde England myself and an Austrian buddy would take an older friend out for an evening of repose and darts. Sometimes we had to queue to get on the board! Come rain hail, snow or shine we enjoyed our evening out - three different eras. This 'old fella' had given us both a serious 'leg up' in our career pathways and this was part payment. He was also a soccer champ of the old era playing for one of the UK national teams. These reminders take me back to those days - long gone now - of the trio I am the last remaining - it saddens me of course but I'm also glad we made our contributions to each other

I love darts! My kids and I used to play on an electronic dartboard at home (the actual steel darts would have caused too much damage when shots were missed). I'm terrible at them, but I still love to play.

Darts were a big part of my early adult life, playing in leagues.
When I was stationed in England, I watched every match on TV they aired.
To hear the announcer call out 'ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY', was always a high point.

Followed the Professionals like John Lowe and Eric Bristow.
Former World Champ Jockey Wilson came to our Base for an Exhibition and some of us got to play him.

@Twostep, 23 gram Black Widow darts was the best set I ever owned...

On a back of a door, sure. I mean, with our WI winters and not a whole lot for kids to do inside, it was one of our games.

Funny thing, my son-in-law had a dart tournament a year ago with his brothers and other relatives and invited me to play too. I won! Then I played my son-in-law a few more times at a later date and won each time. I never thought I was that good at darts.

I have a round dart board hanging on a door in my bedroom. I forgot how dangerous it can be if you are too close to the dart board. The point of the dart hits a metal part on the board and ricochets back in your direction. Like a fool, I tried to catch it a few times.

My brother was a darts hustler. He could turn it on and off like a light switch.

We used to play darts in the basement. He wouldn't hit anything until there was a wager involved and then he wouldn't miss.

I've thrown many darts. But I only played once in a bar where I never lost a game that night. The winner got a beer. More beer than I could drink.

I havent played in eons. I do have a dart board on the wall in the pool room.
And some of the pointy darts. If I get the urge. :D

Hi Joey I remember playin darts with you on many a cold and frosty night with heavy mounds of snow about - and still we braved and weaved our ways there and back just on a leather scooter?
