Anyone Had Retinal Detachment?

On Friday I started having a black cobweb running around over my left eye. I also had little flashes of light in the corner when I blinked etc.
Dr Google says to get in right away as it could be a retinal detachment. I have an appt tomorrow at nine.
Hoping they'll tell me it's a cataract but I'm a bit worried.

Did you get an appointment with a real doctor.? Dr. Google probably is not your best idea. Good luck to you. Tell us how it goes.

I'm no expert, but the little flashes could be an indication of a small tear in the retina. This can lead to retinal detachment if left untreated. When this happened to me a number of years ago, my ophthalmologist got me in right away. A few quick and painless zaps with a special laser and the problem was solved.

IMO, this isn't something you should put off.

Oh yes. I updated this in another thread.
I went yesterday morning and was diagnosed Posterior Vitreous Detachment. No tears in the retina so no treatment necessary.
Google was just the first step.
Thanks for your replies!
