Anyone have any interest in seeing the Michael Jackson movie?

I think it's fascinating that his nephew looks and sounds like him, but I just have no interest.

I saw the Elton John and Freddie Mercury biopics and what I found most interesting were the backstories about their personal lives and the difficulties they went through before and after becoming successful.

Michael Jackson was also incredibly talented and had plenty of skeletons in his closet but that seems to have been whitewashed out of the movie. It ends in 1985, before the Neverland scandal, his pet chimp and his antics like hanging his baby over the balcony in front of the press. Show me what truly made him who he was and I will watch the movie.

I would love to see a biopic of George Michael's life. Another incredibly talented, tortured soul who died too young.

MJ was a great performer and Q Jones turned him into a superstar. Not much of a story there.

Elton John has had a phenominal career and his story would be one worth telling.

Queen was overrated.

I DO!!! I will hafta wait til it shows up in streams. There's another recently advertised I wanna see but I can't remember.

My son Liam and his family went to see it this week. They said it was great. I'll wait til Liam buys the disc or it shows up on Netflix, whichever comes first.

I got Liam a "beat it jacket" for his 9th birthday. His b'day was in early spring, he wore that jacket til the middle of summer, and could hardly wait for autumn's first breeze.

I might watch it, but I wouldn't pay money to see it. I have never been a fan, although I admit he was very popular and talented. Apparently, the film avoids his perverse sexual proclivities, so it's not really biographical, it sounds more like just going to concert put on by a tribute band.

While a few movies about celebrities seem interesting most if not all have people who were present in the events and times dispute the truthfulness of the depiction. We can only guess at the persons views and perceptions and if it does NOT include or glosses over the bad spots it shows they wanted to present a cleaned-up version.
I think fame on that scale and pressure has destroyed many lives and i always end up asking myself why they did not walk away at some point.

No. No interest whatsoever.

Mind, I'm not like many - I don't enjoy his music. So even that isn't something I'm interested in.

Also, reviews make it clear that the movie is a glorification of his success, and doesn't tough on the dark aspects. As such, it's just a waste.

No, Thank you.

I would prefer to see an unbiased account of his life that helped us to understand the people and events that shaped his life. How he helped and harmed the people that were closest to him as he grappled with his own demons.

“The safest road to hell is the gradual one - the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.”
C.S. Lewis

I remember the group, The Jackson Five, in their early years. I think they were pretty good, and they also had this precocious little kid who was talented beyond his years as an added attraction, and who eventually eclipsed his brothers. But I was never impressed enough to follow him afterwards. But I will give him credit for one outstanding and amazing achievement, the Moon Walk, an incredible dance step.
