Chair? I am considering getting one due to my shoulders (both) are in so much
pain these days....I have to lift myself up out of recliner by pushing down with my
hands....so I'm wondering if one of these power chairs would be a help to me?!
thanks don

I'd suggest going to a retailer to have a demo. There should be some near you. Beware, you're talking $400-$2,700 for them.

Perfect Sleep Chair®
(At this time, we are able to ship Perfect Sleep Chairs to the contiguous US only.)

$2,699.00

Lacoo Power Lift Recliner with Massage and Heat, Brown Faux Leather, Size: Regular
$344.99
Walmart

I bought a highly rated one over a year ago. Turns out I don't like it and mine simply does not fit my body. After half an hour in the chair it starts hurting me and I have to go sit somewhere else. This problem didn't show up in the short time I was able to sit in the store demo chair.

Mine does make getting up easier, but that isn't really my problem. Mine will lift you until you are standing up so all you have to do is walk away from it so that may be of help to you. That said mine turned out to be a good lifter but a horrible recliner for evening reading and relaxing.

I have that same problem plus I am not strong enough to push down on the recliner handle to make it recline or if someone does it for me, I can't pull it up to put the recline down. I have to use a foot stool with it instead. My shoulders hurt so much from pushing to get out of it. And from bearing down too hard on my walker which I am trying not to do.

You can get a power recliner that will use an electric motor to do what the push arm does manually but without all the lift machinery.

A caution, if the power goes out while you are reclined some of these chairs can leave you stranded if you lack the strength or mobility to climb out of the contraption. Some power recliners and lifters have a battery backup but most don't.

@hawkdon I have one. Mine is great. Mine has a battery back up, so if I lose power I have the power to get back up if I lose power. Word of caution...it is just a 9V battery, and you should probably replace it after power loss.
With mine, I can lay back far enough that I could sleep in it..and have often.
I bought mine from a local store, which is good for the couple times I have needed service....needed a new motor (warranty work, just paid shipping).
My husband was a big guy, and he found one designed for heavier people. So, if you are a bigger guy, check weight limits. DM me if you have other questions

DH and I both have lift chairs, my biggest problem with it is remembering to use the lift. My shoulder scream at me when I forget. My chair does all sorts of stuff but mainly I use the lift, the headrest and in winter I could use the heat.
