Anyone have or had experience with a "Walking Pad"?

Hi, I'm interested in maybe purchasing a Walking Pad and hoped some of us here have one of these or have experience on them.

If you do, please fill me in. I used to have a manual treadmill, but that machine was a mess, the belt was always going offline, hard to get the belt going, and so on.

A walking pad interested me for exercising, obviously, losing weight, keeping active especially in bad weather and cold/hot months.

Anyone? Thanks.

I have a Denise Austin Walking Pad. It has the handles on the side, which I like. Folds to fit under bed, etc., but it is heavy (75#?) so I don't move it around. Not a lot of bells and whistles, display shows speed, distance, time, calories burned. It also has an emergency shut off key. Does not have the incline feature. I think it goes up to 8 mph.

Bought it about a year ago; haven't had any problems with it.

I've looked at w pads on a couple of sites online and their reviews which are all over the scale. Some rated highly, then badly. It's like pin the tail on the donkey trying to select.

I think it'd be good for the w pad to have a handle at least until I'm sure I wouldn't go careening onto the floor.

Thanks for sharing that. Denise Austin is probably a very good brand, she's been in the walking as exercise business for a long time.

I don't need fancy or sophisticated, just a reliable w pad that could get me on it every day. Must do something and the stationary bike in the basement is not calling out to me.

I have a Landice L7 treadmill, and have tended to keep using it less and less.
The main reason is that it's bouncy, not the same as walking or running on the ground,
Thus over the last few years I've been preferring to walk back and forth in the hallway instead.

My floors are concrete, which is nice for walking barefoot or with shoes, but the hallway is only 20' long.
It would be awesome to have a basement floor to walk & run back and forth on since it would be much longer.

I wouldn't get a walking pad. I'd rather walk on the ground.

@John cycling I used to do walking circuits in the basement, but with projects and purchases, my circuit got clogged up.

It's a space that needs sorted and decluttered maybe once the weather warms up I will tackle that, it's overwhelming at times and of course, I have to lug the stuff that's leaving the house up 13 steps. But, I'll get it done.

I moved the bike down to the basement, but it's such a boring way to exercise I haven't used the bike very often.

When I was younger I ran and rode bikes outdoors, but injuries mount up, so now I need to take walks more, and not at the shops.

Thanks about your treadmill, is there any way to make it less bouncy?

I wish I could use one but the weight limit isn't very high.
