Anyone order shoes online?

What's a good place to shop?

Do you have trouble getting the right size with the fitting charts?

After all these years I finally found out I should be wearing narrow shoes. It makes a big difference in how long my feet hold up working outdoors. You can't find narrow ones in the stores anymore.

They claim to have some at shoes.com.

I have only ordered sandals from L.L. Bean.

I would recommend ordering from a website that has live chat or phone reps you can talk to, and that also lets you measure your feet and send in your measurements with your order so they can match their sizing to your measurements. I think L.L.Bean and/or Lands' End does this but not sure. .

Good idea. I had almost picked out a pair at shoes.com, but they don't have measurement charts on that site. There is such a huge difference between manufacturers.

I'll check out those two places. Thanks.

My daughter orders shoes online from a company called Aldo, that has their own line and so their sizes are absolutely consistent. So she knows exactly what size to order and only has to chose the style. The first pair was where she learned the sizes and since then, smooth sailing. She always checks out their Sale page.

I've been reading posts on a biker's forum (not a member) and they suggest constructing your own inserts to make shoes narrower. I'll think about that. I've got some good glue. :)

Thanks Cookie. There is a New Balance store nearby where I live. In fact I paid a lot for a pair of narrow NB walking shoes but they stretched out in a week. The other brands in narrow appear to be sold out in my size.

SeaBreeze: The EasySpirit site looks promising. They have lots of narrow choices.

If I ever find a pair I like, I'm going to order a dozen identical pairs and get it over with. Don't like shopping for shoes.:p

Duluth Trading is a great catalog. For men it's everything from long T shirts and no plumbers crack to messenger bags that will age gracefully but protect a lap-top. Women's clothes and long t's plus shoes from business to easy-going

Try Zappos.com. Easy to deal with, free returns, lots of info on size and fit from customers. My wife has used them several times. Good variety.

Fur, Duluth Trading looks like a great place and they ship to Canada, something to consider (plus $US+shipping) for us up here.

Thanks to everyone. I've made some choices. Just got to narrow them down to 1 or 2. I wish one of the sites had actual foot measurement instructions. There used to be one like that, but I forgot which. Anyway it didn't have a good selection of shoes.

Funny thing, the reviews that say they don't fit well run about 50-50 in both directions "run narrow, run wide," and "run small, run big." Ha!

Oh well, I'll take the plunge soon. I hate returning things.:p

Because I have wide feet, I have ordered online for many years either from Zappos.com or Shoebuy.com. Both offer free shipping on returns and I have returned some with no problems at all. It is so easy if you need to return any.
