Anyone remember maypole's?

Yes indeed I remember Maypoles, we still have maypole dancing to this day in some towns and villages..

Yes I do SD....all my grown kids participated in the fun activity of May Pole Day back in grade school...they had to dress nice that day singing songs while they danced round and round....was so cute to watch.

Never had one. Heard of them but never saw a real one.... than I can remember, anyway.

Never had this as a kid up in Jersey Rose but here in Virginia most of the grade schools acknowledge it.

that's my mom front and center. She just turned 95 on Jan 1st. and she was tickled when I gave her this pic. She thought it was long lost.

I never saw a May Pole but my Mom always talked about dancing around one when she was a child. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I had heard of Maypoles and dancing around them, but it was simply a cultural reference in my area rather than an actual practice. Certainly a nice tradition now sadly lost to time for many!
