Anyone remember The Seekers ?

A 60's group from Australia. I only came across them recently. When they were topping the charts, in the early 60's, we were busy having kids, working and attending school. Musical groups were not high on our list of priorities.

I really enjoy their music . Sadly the female lead, Judith Durham passed away recently at age 79. The three male instrumentalists/ singers are still with us. Fortunately for late-comers such as myself, their music is available in a variety of electronics.

I loved Judith Durham and was saddened by her death. Youtube has a reunion concert of the
Seekers singing I am Australia. Her voice was as beautiful as when she was younger.

Judith died in 2022.

Yes we still play old Seekers songs sometimes and their song We are Australian is played frequently in schools etc - is almost a quasi national anthem .

Loved them, especially World of Our Own. This folky-type music of the 60's was so well done in all aspects.

Roger Whittaker was another from the Same Era , he was from Kenya..

Sadly the music world lost him just recently too..

Of course! I had their greatest hits album on vinyl, cassette, & CD.

I don't think I've heard their other songs, but Georgie Girl made it to the US in the 60's and I remember loving it as a kid. It was right up there with Good Morning Starshine by Oliver and Sunshine Superman by Donavan. The 60's had some great music!
