I believe his story. He wrote a song pouring out his heart for all to hear. I’m not sure why he would lie about something so personal.

I didn't see the actual performance, just the OP video. It's a very touching song, moving the whole audience.

He said he was 65. From his appearance, the "weight of waiting" surely took it's toll, not only inside, but outside.

sighhhhh, why do they have to do stuff like that to people.. That's a cheap trick. I did like the song and the voice. I will not ever now watch that show, won't be able to trust it is real.

I think what 1st made me wonder if it was not exactly what was portrayed was in the video, he is holding
the guitar but he's not changing chords in the close ups.

Although I did not realize the video was fictional, the one thing that struck me as odd is that almost everyone in the audience was moved to tears. It is very unusual to see that.
