Anyone see the Grand Ole Opry at Ryman?

We have attended many concerts there, my personal favorite night was with Neil Young in 2010.
I worked for 8 years just down the street from the Ryman in Downtown Nashville.
Hoping to catch Buddy Guy playing there in March.

Have you been to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center yet?

It is beautiful and like the Ryman, the acoustics are top notch.
Big plans to see Pat Metheny in February at the Schermerhorn!

No, we have not been there! Sounds like we need to add that to our list!

We took the tour many years ago.

At the end, we all got to stand on the stage and sing "You Are My Sunshine" and then got a certificate that says, " I Sang On the Stage at the Grand Ole Opry".

Unfortunately, it didn't automatically turn me into a singer......bummer.
That would be a cool experience!

Sure! I have seen it twice. First in the 70s when Bill Monroe and Roy Acuff were there. Then I saw it another time in the 90s. Didn't like it the 2nd time. It was getting too political with some singer sticking his fist up in the air. I wouldn't go again. Give me Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Marty Robbins, Johnny Horton and George Jones any time. You can keep those guys with the politically correct torn jeans and the politically correct underwear shirt; pretending they are "country." They don't do anything for me!

I'm a child of the 60s. Drugs, sex, and Rock & roll. ( Didn't get much, except the music.) I shared a ride with a buddy from work. It was an hour and half ride. It was his car, so the radio was on WWVA, Wheeling, West Virgina. All country, all the way! I endured the Opry.

Exactly, what @Packerjohn said.
I'm glad the hubby and I got to see it back then. I even got a chance to talk to Roy Acuff. It can't get any better than that.

When I responded to the Thead, I was thinking of the Ryman Auditorium which was the original
home of the Grand Ole Opry.
It is still going strong and many different types of music happens there now.
The building just gives off a Feeling that makes the night wonderful.

Lived here in Nashville going on 12 years, but have not attended the New Grand Ole Opry out by the 'Opryland Resort'.
Heard it's a nice place, just never got around to going.
Most of the country artist I enjoyed have sadly passed on.
Don't know much about all the new Country artist out now.
