Anyone want to chat about anything at all? 🤓

shopping day today and picked up in the Home Care van with a few others mostly Indigenous. we all have a good laugh and a natter and a moan!! One of the WW workers who I chat with a while was telling me that some people still slide items into their bags without scanning them and her job is to keep out a beady eye!! can you believe it?? posted off my mail voting slip today but I think it was filled in wrong so will be to discarded as incorrect - if I hadn't sent it at all would have been fined a hundred or so??that's democracy for yaz!!

Ruthanne, we lost our last cat and was told to get another but like you, we could not afford the vet bills and care we gave all our cats who developed some type of illness. We loved them all but we are elderly with health issues and might not be around for them.

I am sorry to hear about your dog. I really hope the best for you.

@Ruthanne, I'm sorry you're struggling with grief and a bit of loneliness right now. I empathize so strongly with this in that I cried for years (not continuously, of course) for my first Boxer. To this day, 5.5 years later, when I clean his shrine, it makes me cry.

I think you've done a good thing here in reaching out to others for connection.

Is there any kind of pet fostering program near you that you might take in a small dog for a short period of time? My understanding is that the foster agencies take care of all expenses. It's just a thought I realize might not be viable for you right now.

Good vibes coming to you. ❤️

Hi. Since my babygirl doggie passed I've been getting a feeling of being very alone now. I don't have many friends who want to chat . Anyhow I will listen to anything you have to say. *
This thread should be kept civil .
*Just want to say I'm thankful for being alive. Late yesterday, a rotating updraft was above my town and TV reporters reported a tornado was forming and made it seem inevitable that we were going to be hit - one even saying things like "Oh my God, look at the size of that thing!" - then the usual warning, "YOU NEED TO BE IN YOUR SAFE PLACE NOW!" Like most people, I have no safe place other than a bathroom in the center of the house. At the last minute, the storm made a slight turn, and failed to touch ground.

Thanks for starting this thread, Ruthanne. It's a good place to express worries and whatever is on people's minds. I'm still thinking of you after the loss of your loving pet and companion. It's not easy adjusting to being alone. I promise, it will be better one day.

Wow I never heard of being fined for not voting! I'm not voting this election. They didn't send me any information on it.

You are most welcome! Yes it's a hard adjustment but I am trying to .

I'm glad that tornado didn't come down there! We get them in Ohio too. It's very scary. Thank you for your post and kindness 🙂

Well, seems that old saying is true "if it's not one thing it's another!". I'm always saying that about things in my life. Now my car won't start and it may be a problem getting it out of the garage.

Seems like it might be the battery, or starter. I'm just letting it sit till I figure out what I will do next. I have AAA.

I may call them tomorrow. I don't feel like it today. Then I will focus on getting it out of the garage.

Thank you for the idea. I'm not up to caring for any animals anymore. I don't have the resources either. I don't have the resources or energy. I'll be alright on my own.

I now am worrying about possibly losing my housing. I have to start making phone calls about that and even possibly moving to a senior building if I can find one where apartments are available as there are wait lists.

Thank you for your post and concern.❤️

Thanks for your post. I feel exactly the same way. I don't believe I will be around long enough to raise more pets. I have a stuffed plushie 🐶 dog that I pet. It's very soft and gives some comfort to do that.

I hope you are doing well and nice to hear from you 🙂I'm sorry for your loss of your dear kitty 🐈 I believe we will see all of our dear critters when we pass on.❤️

I live very rural but have county water. My road lost water for about nine hours. That is a record amount of time.

It’s amazing what I thought of to do once I did not have the water to do it with lol lol.

I have a couple cases of bottled water, but that’s not enough if I lose water for any amount of time to water my horses. I will be going to the store tomorrow, not only because I need to go to the store, but because I am going to load up on water, water and more water. That is something that does not go bad.

Sleep – I sleep in shifts. I don’t know how I got started on that despicable habit, but I will not take any sort of medicine to help me sleep at night. I need to be able to hear the dogs and hear my horses if something happens with them. About the only thing I have left that works to 100% capacity is my hearing lol lol
That sounds rough without water. I hope you were able to get a lot of water for all you need to use it for! I think I take water 💦 for granted and I shouldn't because it is a very necessary thing. Please keep me/us updated ❤️

Sheesh, when it rains it freaking pours. I'm sorry about your current troubles with housing and your car. Holy crow, you deserve to catch a break, girl.

Thank you for your nice wishes. Yes I am doing well. I hope to see my critters, too, when we pass. Stay well and pet the little plushie for me. :)

Sorry to hear about babygirl's passing. How about getting another pet ... of course it cannot replace the feeling's you will forever cherish but its a start.

You are NOT alone here, many of use really like you.

That's a great idea only I can't do it. I mean another dog or cat because I can't afford to. The only one I might get is a fish. Good to see you here and I hope you're doing well, are you?

Kind of you to ask. :) I'm okay, struggling with a vertigo attack these last couple days, but it will pass, and I will move on. Keeping good thoughts.
What exactly is Vertigo? I heard it can be real bad but not sure what all happens. I try to keep good thoughts, too, sometimes I argue with myself, too, though 😆 No, but really I try to do a lot of self talk to keep myself sane. 😊

Well, vertigo is really the sensations of dizziness or spinning, the room spinning around you. What I am suffering is a bout of vertigo caused by: "Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is an inner ear disorder that is the most common cause of vertigo, a very specific kind of dizziness that makes you feel as if the room is spinning around you."

I used to get these attacks much more frequently and severely, but it's been years since I've had even a moderate one, as I would classify this one. I have had much worse in years past.

It is unpleasant and I am dizzy, woozy, uncomfortable, but I can walk, look around, even read. It's not that bad. And it will pass, eventually. There are exercises I can do (which I will this evening) that sometimes help. They're worth a try.

Also, I've read that vitamin deficiencies can aggravate BPPV, particularly Vitamin D, so I've resumed my supplements. I'll get through it. :)

Hope that wasn't more information that you really wanted. LOL

I really can't for several personal reasons. One is that I can no longer afford Vet prices. I am too old, too, and have a chronic, progressive illness and don't think I would outlive another pup. Thanks, though, for the idea.
Oh, that is too bad. I hope that you have some family and friends around to chat with sometimes. Nothing is really ever new with me and hubby and kitty, as we are probably the most boring couple you will have met. We don't go out anywhere except to shop.

We have not travelled for a vacation anywhere for over 10 years. I go out to the library and to various malls just to get out. Tried the Seniors Center but somehow just not enticed to go there. Most days, I do my art, or sewing, mostly art which I truly enjoy.

I have purchased many online art courses to amuse myself with. I have no friends as they died in their early 60's and somehow my most recent work colleagues, (I worked until I was 67) I thought they might become friends, but that did not work out.

I am a fish fanatic and have 2 or 3 pics of my tanks in one of these forums but in your case do not rule out female Guinea pigs and suggest them as easy no walking required yet a mammal that bonds with you .
