Anyone want to chat about anything at all? ๐Ÿค“

Sorry, I will post more asap. I'm not feeling well or up to it right now.

I'm thinking of you as well, Ruthanne.

I'm glad you posted that short note. Thanks for the effort it takes to do that , when we are not feeling good or up to it. ๐Ÿ’—

Hope you feel better soon!

These critters wanted to visit you and cheer you so I told them that if they are very quiet and calm, then you wouldn't mind. ๐Ÿคฃ

Thank you for your kind wishes @Medusa and @Rae and @Kaila ๐Ÿ’— I slept most of the day and cried a lot yesterday and it was the 2: month anniversary of losing my dear fur best friend .

My neighbor invited me and a few others to sit outside and have a beer. So I did and it did me good. At one point I even was laughing at something funny they said. Feeling a lighter mood now.

Thank you all for your posts and I will be replying soon, probably today which is now Sunday.

Hi to all the critters. I enjoy the visit!
Hey it's fun to post these emojis ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you for being here @Kaila ๐Ÿ’—I love all the critters of this Earth but also have a healthy fear of some of them...like snakes and alligators ๐ŸฆŽ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿชฑ Thanks too for having them visit!๐Ÿ’—

I'm glad you were able to rest. That's so important. Lack of sleep really creates a lot of problems... After my dad died, I went through about 4 yrs of insomnia. I've been getting some work done on the garden. DH wanted to start aquaponics in one area so we are pushing to get that going. :)
I often wake from sleep about every 2 hours and I always look at the clock to see how much sleep I got.

It must have been devastating to lose your father. I'm sorry for your loss.

What are aquaponics? I know it must have something to do with ๐Ÿ’ฆ water but I don't know what...lol

What's new with you @BlueDragonfly ?

I hope all is well, Ruthanne. I will keep you in my thoughts today and will wait to hear from you :) .
Hi Rae. I'm feeling better today. I'm up late now but have gotten into the habit of it. For awhile I had a halfway normal sleep schedule but all that can change.

How are things with you and I hope you will chat about whatever you like๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Ruthanne ๐Ÿค— I don't know if this has been mentioned and I see it says "caregiver" under your Avatar so maybe you're already doing this...
I wonder if you could be a temporary foster parent for a dog or cat until they are adopted from a Pet Adoption Agency. And...

Maybe they can provide the money you would need to care for them since many rich people donate to SPCA and other Animal Shelters. Many leave their whole inheritance to them. The only drawback is if you become attached...then that can be hard for you to give them up.
Hi @Lara Thank you for that good idea. Right now I am taking a break from animal care. I am one of them that would have a very hard time giving them up. I'll keep it in mind for the future though!

How are things going with you? Do you have anything about you that you want to chat about?

My mobility chair has been out of order for a year or so. Now I have a loaner so my BF can try to fix mine. This one looks to be well used but seems to work good driving it around on my hall. I am trying to learn to trust it so I can use it to go the stores and parks. The worst scenario I can imagine is driving it to the store and it quitting. And not being able to get a hold of my BF so he can come help me (he lives 25 miles away). Hopefully I will get up my courage to at least take it downstairs on the elevator today.

Hope you all have a good day today!
How did that go @katlupe ?

Good morning, Ruthanne, you sound like you are feeling better. I just take each day telling myself I have to keep going. Somehow that helps me and I keep going.:)

I have to take care of my husband now as he has health problems and he cannot do much to help around the house. I am not very strong but I amaze myself sometimes at what I can do.

Take care of your health with the doctors advice and hope things go well with your move and financial situation.
Thank you for your post and concern! How is that going with taking care of your husband?

Yes, I could not live without AC. It gets so miserable with heat in Texas. I don't go out a lot anyway but even less so in the summer. May seem silly, I have central AC, but I have a window unit stored in the garage. If the central went out I could put that in on one side of the house in I have a bed, bath and kitchen on that side. @Ruthanne, sorry about the delay in my answer.... computer was acting up.
@Blessed We are going to have a hot week this week. I have an in wall AC that's in the living room. I may have to take the cover off of it this week. That's ok for a delay. Anytime you want to post it is fine! I have had computer problems at times too. It gets me irritated when it does that. I hope things are getting better for you. I couldn't find your post at first so sorry for not getting back sooner. Please update me on how things are going with you! โค๏ธ ๐ŸŒน:)

Aquaponics is basically using water and fish to give your plants nutrients. The fish poo water cycles through the grow bed, feeding the plants. :) It is an experience getting it all set up!:ROFLMAO:

I have never had trouble sleeping but two things I have learned from my keto group is that two things that affect sleeping is not enough magnesium and medications you are taking. I drink electrolytes through out my day and that includes magnesium. In fact, I have trouble staying awake watching television in the evening.

I think we are going to have some sunshine today. So maybe I will get outside.

That seems very interesting!
Also seems like a lot of work to set up.
Though would be a good focus, if you can manage to accomplish it. ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘

I am 75, living alone since my wife of 42 years passed a little over 4 years ago. At that time, everyone told me, "you need a dog." I was wallowing in grief, but I made the effort and 1 month later, I had Emma, my little chi-weenie. I, too, am constantly strapped financially, I am a heart patient with a near fatal heart attack and a quintuple by-pass open-heart surgery in my recent past. I knew that it would probably be a horse race as to who would outlive who. HOWEVER, the love I have gotten from my precious furry daughter saved my life. The importance of what a loving dog can do for a senior can not be minimized!

Emma can be re-homed if necessary and, although I know she would miss me, she would live on. The opposite is not true. I would again find my self awash in grief. From my experiences, I have determined that there is no good excuse or reason (other than being on death's door) for denying yourself the love of a furry companion. Other than when I got her, Emma has not been to the vet once. The love you can return to your pet (particularly if he/she is a rescue, would enrich their life beyond measure, no matter the length of time.

It is just my opinion naturally, with kind regards,

-David-

I turned 88 in April and I have multiple heart problems among other issues. I also question how I will be able to pick up two medications awaiting me at the pharmacy at a cost of many hundreds of dollars. A nurse was looking into some alternates but I haven't heard back.

Nevertheless, your comments cause me to reconsider having another pet. I will think about it if I can be assured that someone trustworthy will look after it if I am gone or unable to function.

I hope you hear back from the nurse, but also ask at your pharmacy just in case they know of any other types of discount cards etc, regarding those 2 specific scripts. Once in a while they do, so it's worth a try to ask.

It doesn't seem silly to me, to hold on to the window unit A/C. Since you really do need to have some back up one available for any situation you can, in such heat as there is there.

Also, It's nice to see you again. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also wake up every couple of hours, and lay there hoping to fall asleep again @Ruthanne
It's not easy trying to stop all the thoughts and memories at night, when we lay down.

๐Ÿค—
@Pinky I also have a sound machine that, if I remember, has various cool nature sounds and I turn it on. After awhile of not being able to sleep I listen to it and then fall asleep. I need to remember to use it more often.

I like the ocean ๐ŸŒŠ waves sounds. I haven't tried sleeping to any of the other sounds but may try to do that one day. Maybe I'll turn on the rain showers๐Ÿธ

It really works for me and when I remember to use it. I got it on Amazon and it was one of the less costly ones.

I need to get some magnesium. I was taking it for other reasons besides sleep but it's good to know it can help sleep, too. I have some in my multi-vitamin but not enough. I try to get the separate magnesium that's about 250 mg.

Did you get out today? I wish I had but my wake/sleep hours are a mess right now! I slept from about 9 am to almost 8 pm. I don't know how this got so crazy but I have to try and change that. I have some phone appointments in the next few weeks and need to be awake....
