Anyone watch Master Chef?

I enjoy it. It is a competition featuring home cooks. Gordon Ramsay is one of the judges.
Tonight, they have a special appearance from Chef Morimoto. The challenge is king crab. They have 60 minutes to make a dish with it. I feel bad for two of the contestants, as they are allergic to shellfish, so they have to wear gloves when wirking with it. Plus they have the disadvantage of not being able to taste their dishes.
Of course, I am now seriously craving me some crab legs

Jim, I will not give you any more spoilers, but will just say there were some good dishes.

I used to watch it when I had cable, but honestly I got tired of all the competition type shows. I was a rabid fan of Iron Chef and Iron Chef America. Loved Morimoto!

I watch chefs and cooking shows on YouTube sometimes.

@RadishRose I watch a lot of cooking shows on You Tube and Food network as well. I like watching the Pioneer Woman, as I can see me making some of her dishes. Tricia Yearwood as well. On YouTube I watched Cooking with Shotgun Red as well. He passed away in December, and his wife took over the show with guest cooks, but it is not the same.

@Marie, I tried Shotgun Red, didn't like it; no disrespect, but I did like The Pioneer Woman.

There are some good chefs on YT, but I don't like those women who make all those freezer meals, they're all the same...hamburger and/or chicken, tons of cheese, cream of crap soups and tater tots.

I just watched Master Chief tonight. Those crab legs looked so good. I would never have through to serve them with fried green tomatoes though. At least I can afford the tomatoes.
I enjoy these cooking shows but as far as I'm concerned they can't hold a candle to Julia Child the French chef. She was the best. I think she started it all. Then came the galloping Gourmet another favorite.

Yes, dear Julia. I loved her. We had a thread about her a long time ago.
She was down to earth, used table salt, not Kosher salt and screw-cap wine.

I'm so sad...I'm missing Master Chef or Chopped lately because I'm at my daughter's house helping after her knee surgery and she doesn't have cable! Master Chef Junior is one of my favorite cooking shows. I can't believe how those kids (some only 10 years old or so) come up with those dishes. It's interesting to see how Gordon Ramsey is so much more compassionate towards the kids than the adults!

I watch Sam the Cooking Guy videos sometimes on YouTube and a few others when they show up in my YouTube recommendations. I'm going to try to make KFC fried chicken this evening, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, or at least something that's edible without having to woof it down. Whenever I make something that doesn't taste so good, I eat it fast so I won't have to suffer for long. That hasn't happened in a while, though. I must be becoming a better cook. :)

Remember the blind Vietnamese woman that won the competition overwhelming all the other contestants? I like many others, were amazed what she accomplished. She lives and works in Houston and this past week has opened a new restaurant. I'm sure she is not lacking in customers. Chef Ramsey has yet another show starting for TV. I don't know the name or when it will be on. Where does he find the time to manage all his activities, TV shows, world travels, writing many books and owning I don't know how any restaurants.

Currently we have 'Masterchef, the professionals' on TV. In many ways I prefer this because you can pick up tips from the chefs.

Many of the winners of previous Masterchef programmes in the UK have gone on to gain celebrity status.
