I’m surprised that Adele didn’t sing Sky Fall during the James Bond tribute.
Everyone looks so beautiful!

Agreed ! I hope you enjoy the show.@Ontology Geek don't let anyone minimize your experience. Enjoy the Oscars!
Me,.tooCouldn't care less.
So, you do care, then?Could care less about it!
It's interesting that so many say they are out of touch with modern entertainment. I wonder why that is? Could it be because the quality has deteriorated? A good story, good script and actors that fit their parts used to be the norm. These days, it seems to be about making a statement, and no film is worth watching unless it features nudity and sex. What does this say about modern society?
I stopped watching the Oscars a long time ago. It has become tacky and pointless.
Well said!!The simple answer is, we're not their target audience anymore.
The main reason, I think, that most of us don't keep up with what's going on in the entertainment industry, is because we don't relate to it anymore.
The best movies and the best music, to us, occurred while we were in our prime. And those movies, and that music, to us, is still the best. That's what every generation thinks.
Just like these 20 and 30 somethings now, who spend their money on movies they think are great, and well done, we did the exact same thing when we were that age.
It's like when people say Saturday Night Live 'hasn't been funny for 30 years'.
Yea, ok, a more accurate statement would be SNL hasn't been funny to me for 30 years.
They've been on the air for 50 years. Know why? Because their target audience has not changed. We have.
Excellent point about target audiences, and I think you hit the nail on the head -- with one caveat. The simple answer is, we're not their target audience anymore.
