Anything funny or unusual happen over Christmas for you?

All in all, it was a nice, quiet christmas, with visiting, watching some tv, and lots of laughter. The one thing that stands out for me, was my trip down the street to take a family photo for some friends. It was Christmas eve, and I told them to call when they were dressed and ready. They ended up calling me about 4:30, gads, and it was raining buckets. Ok, so I went down (about 2 blocks) carrying my camera "junk", got set up, shot a few for them. Then I wanted to get back to the house so we could have our pizza (we had traditional food Xmas day). So I am going out the door of their home and totally missed a step (there are 4) and fell, tumbled and luckily my head was last to hit concrete. Yes it hurt, but I could tell I hadn't broke anything, scared me worse then anything. I think I was more worried about my camera but it was in a padded case, LOL! I'm not so padded.

I must have learned this from my drinking days though because when I knew I was falling, I just went limp and sort of let it happen, LOL! Not even a bruise so guess that guardian angel was by my side, lol!

Anyone else?? What stands out for your holiday?

Denise, so sorry you fell! I too, missed the back step a year ago but hurtled into a parked car, bounced off that and hit the pave, breaking my wrist. Glad you are intact.:D

Oh geez, breaking your wrist, I can't imagine. Guess it could have been worse. I am usually so careful but my mind was on getting out of a smoke-filled house, and back to my company. I promised them the photo though, and, it came out super good;) It was all worth it;)

I'm glad you are okay after the fall Denise.

We had a nice quiet Christmas day and got a new toaster oven from our son.
This morning we took it out of the box to try making toast. No way would it toast a slice
of bread. We read the directions and tried again, the elements came on but not long enough
to toast. We turned it up to dark toast but no luck.

We spent a half hour of trying to get it to work and then gave up.
The oven part works properly but it will not toast!

It is now back in the box and I'm glad to say our son kept the sales slip so it can to go back to the store.
Sometimes gifts just have to be returned. I hope they have one in stock that will work.

We have two dials on ours Raven. One above to set the temp/or put on "toast" and one below to set the time. Did you have those options? I love ours to bake potatos for my sis and I or just reheat pizza etc. Much nicer then a micro for reheating;) imo:) Hope you get one that works.

Yeah, I am glad I didn't have it worse in that fall. Geesh, we have to be so careful, the older we get, at least that's how I feel.

Glad you didn't get hurt when you fell Denise, it's easy to miss those steps, that's for sure! I've been lucky many (but not all) times, to right myself before hitting the ground. Radish, sorry to hear about your wrist, hope it's completely healed. :love_heart: Nothing funny by me, but the unusual thing was my cat had (and still has) the runs, because I (and my hubby) couldn't say no when he wanted some of the heavy cream we bought for creamed spinach and holiday desserts....mental note: never again, LOL!

Awe, I know how hard it is to say no. We had my nephews red lab here, she is wonderful, and their little parrot:) I sure loved having the animals around;)

So glad you weren't hurt badly Denise! Man, that must have been a scare for you. Or did it happen so fast that you didn't have time to be scared? Well whatever the case, just glad that you are okay.

Hi Debby;) Well, afterwards I was shaken up, but mostly relieved when I realized nothing was broke, and my head stopped hurting, not even a headache. I sure appreciate everyone's notes here, big hugs Debby to you and all!!
