I thought they had ditched their dial-up service years ago. I was on AOL for three or four years in the late 90's and had fun with the chat rooms and using AOL Instant Messenger. Once my cable company offered broadband around 2000 I ditched AOL and never looked back but I do have fond memories of my AOL dial-up days.

AOL announces September shutdown for dial-up Internet after 34 years

I started with CompuServe but I did switch over to AOL because I thought if I did I would stop getting the flood of AOL discs in the mail. Signing up with them didn't stop the flood of discs !

Whoa !!! Still kickin' it til Sept ... Whoa !!! End of an era
Started with AOL. I remember wondering if there was even anything on the Internet outside of AOL sites :ROFLMAO:
Then I found another dial up carrier that was cheaper. Been so long, can't remember the name now.
It was cheaper but didn't have all the bells and whistles of AOL.
Had dial up well into the 2000's

AOL was catchy too bad it had to end with lonely! In early 2000's I used Rt#crud&bckAgain.
I suppose it was the rural America that kept it going. U no take away video and music, the
Internet was better back then, very little delay in getting a site. Just not much adds and BS
people putting their two cents worth of crap in ones ears and eyeballs. I liked it better then.
Yahoo still seems better too.
