I had a few pairs. I fell off them once at a carnivalPlatform Shoes, better know as ankle breakers.

. It was so embarrassing! There were lots of guys my age right in front of me. I think the concrete there had some potholes in it. Anyhow did I ever turn red as I was getting up. I was in high school then.
My sister has a picture of me wearing a leisure suit that looks very similar to this one. In fact the shirt I was wearing was also very similar to the one that is in the picture. I was 17 and wore it at a wedding rehearsal for my sister. I have told her that I would disown her if she ever showed it to anyone.

Platform wedges were the worst, several inches high and with a completely flat sole. All you had to do was step on a pebble, and you could be on your way down and lucky if you didn't sprain your ankle!
That was the kind I was wearing when I fell on my face. Luckily I didn't hurt anything. While walking down the street around the U.S. Capitol on a somewhat snowy day, I saw a woman walking in a pair of those black real thin high heels. She was walking like she was walking on egg shells. She was being real careful and I think she was afraid of falling, so I went over to her and asked her if she would like to take my arm and I would help her to wherever she was going. She looked at me like she was going to bite my head off, but then said Thank you. This is very kind of you as I walked her to her office building about a half block away. She almost went down once, but I held onto her arm very tight after that. I was thinking to myself, "If she goes down, so will I."

Hot Pants were popular when I was in High School....
In my days at school there were 'Boys Schools' and 'Girls Schools'..... I was born much too soon.

I remember these. My school did not allow them, except to school dances. There was another type of pants the girls used to wear. They looked like pants , but when the girl sat down, she looked like she was wearing shorts. I think they were called Culottes or something like that. They werenβt allowed in my high school either.
I liked the knee length culottes , that was a nice fashion β¦

I had some tan corduroy ones I wore with leather lace up boots and a brown peasant top.

In my high school we were allowed to wear jeans but not permitted to wear hot pants, hip huggers, or halter tops.

I wore a lot of hot pants, hip huggers and hot pant hip huggers!
Never embraced halter tops because I was too well endowed and halter-style bras hadn't yet come out.
My HS didn't relax the girls' dress code until the year I became a senior, so I mostly missed out on wearing pants to school. They started permitting permitted pants, but no shorts, jeans, halter tops or hot pants.

True. That's why I didn't wear halter tops. Containment was an issue.
