I opted to insure my iPhone with AppleCare instead of AT&T insurance because monthly fees were then AT&T. Had to replace IPhone called AT&T first who referred me to AppleCare . First went to BestBuy associate of Apple products. They required $99.00 deposit to be shipped Apple repair. I was paying monthly installment for insurance and they wanted more.

Next day drove to Apple Store Syracuse who agreed my phone needed replacing. Quickest way was pay for new phone and be reimbursed for the cost upon arrival of new phone and send Apple old phone.

I was reimbursed minus $137.00 charge for taxes. Next time I will sign for AT&T insurance

Ah! They got you by your "short and curlies." Me, I don't believe in any kind of extended warranties. Had too many bad experiences in the past and heard too many awful stories. They only want your money and don't care a fig about you once they got your cash! People are so timid; they always get sucked into insurances of one kind or another.

Pretty soon there is gonna be insurance to cover your other insurances that don't pay when you need them. What a rack and it's approved by your government; so "enjoy."

Usually extended insurance is a rip off. The only time I bought a home warranty was when we were buying a house and the appliances were old. Then I only kept it a year. All 3 times at least one of the appliances died during the first year so I made out.

Only extended warranty we bought was on the advise of the realtor when we sold Mom's house in case something went wrong within the first year so the new buyers couldn't come back on us for an unexpected repair. It wasn't that expensive & we ended up not using it, but was peace of mind.

Other than that one time, we don't bother with warranties since you either don't use them or there is some loophole letting them out of payment. Better sitting that money aside if you need it.
