Applied for a job at Catholic Charities

Mr. Ed

Be what you is not what you what you ain’t
Location
Central NY
Part time Direct Support Assistant. The only thing I don't like about the job is I have to use my vehicle for client transportation, that is a huge red flag as far as I am concern.

Is this where you take people shopping etc. I did that for a time when I was young as an extra job. The office was actually terrible. I ended up getting fired because I told them a client stated she didn't need me to come back and I called the office to report. Her case worker was on vacation so another case worker took my call and then denied I called. Which I most certainly did.

That would be a huge red flag for me, too. You'd better check with your car insurance people to see if your policy covers using it for non-personal use. Otherwise, you might get a nasty surprise if you are involved in an accident. If the employer says their insurance will cover you, your vehicle, and your passengers, get proof of that. Also, are they going to pay for mileage, etc.?

There's all kinds of liability issues with that job. What happens when 89 year old Mrs. Gunther fractures her 89 year old hip, in a fender bender in your car? And I agree with Butterfly, you better find out about gas/mileage.

Yes, because you would be a "livery" vehicle.
