Are these reasonable prices for fresh tomatoes?

I thought that being the main season for tomatoes, the prices would come down in the store. They are higher than ever! I took a screen shot of the local supermarket's list of tomatoes. How do prices compare in your locale? Why are they so expensive right now?

The prices in my area are similar.

I usually pick up a quart basket of locally grown tomatoes at the flea market for $2.00.

When I say locally grown the off-season tomatoes available are locally grown hydroponic tomatoes.

It amazes me when produce is shipped in from around the world how inexpensive it is when you consider all of the handling, shipping costs, etc...

We are the only country on earth where we are free to sit around and gripe with our mouths and trash cans overflowing with food.

2 or 3 weeks ago avocados were 69 cents a piece at Aldi!
$1.25 each here about a month ago. Now they are $2.25 each. This is the price for the small ones. Large ones are $4.50 each. Better price at Costco but you have to get the bag of 5 or 6 large ones.
