I think we are in much more danger after the recent actions taken by the U.S. in foreign countries. The drone strike that killed the al-Qaida leader has lead to a warning that we are in danger of a reprisal attack/s. NPR has an article that states...

"The State Department warns that there is a "higher potential for anti-American violence" following the U.S. killing of al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul over the weekend.

In a "Worldwide Caution" advisory issued Tuesday, the department noted that al-Zawahiri — an architect of terrorist attacks including 9/11 and the 2000 USS Cole bombing — had urged his followers to attack the U.S., and that supporters of al-Qaida or affiliate organizations may seek to do so in the wake of his death.

"Current information suggests that terrorist organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in multiple regions across the globe," it added. "These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics including suicide operations, assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings, and bombings.""

The unexpected visit by Pelosi to Taiwan has caused a swift and powerful reaction from China. They are surrounding Taiwan and creating a blockade. It looks like we are trying to push Taiwan into joining the US allies quickly. The Tawainese were protesting abut Pelosi's pushy visit. The blockade will stop imports to Taiwan and cripple them. This will cause such high tension that it could escalate into a military conlict. I think both these moves are very ill conceived, and has again put the whole world on shakier grounds, if that is even possible.

They are trying to cripple Taiwan there is no doubt about it.
Taiwan just issued a statement that China firing rockets is considered an act of war.
