Are You a Morning Person?

The saying goes: 'The early bird catches the worm' - well, as far as I'm concerned the birds need them
more than I do so they are welcome to them. :D
I like the saying "The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese"! :ROFLMAO:

When my kids were little and I got them up and off to school, I was more of a morning person that started right out of the blocks. As they both grew and became more self sufficient getting ready for school and all of that, I became more laid back staying in bed later. Now I only have one daughter left in my home and she is an adult and works full time as a teacher and will probably be moving out this Summer so I find more and more once my husband gets up for work in the morning and I say my good byes to him, I am back in bed asleep for awhile longer. Once awake I take it slow with my coffee or tea and then get into my day.

I'm usually up at 7AM, but that's just to go to the bathroom. Then it's back to bed for another two hours of sleep. :)

I typically go to bed at 2AM, so 2-9 is seven hours, and that's how much sleep most people get per night. I also take a nap around noon for a couple hours, and then sometimes, another nap on the couch around 9 or 10PM. I have a sleep disorder that prevents me from getting a good, restful sleep.

I am flexible and can adjust to any routine when working one job i was doing my daily walk at 4:30 am ..
now walking at 7 :30 i am amazed that i did the 4 am thing but if situation changed i could adjust back too

Above is Sierra Nevada dawn with crepuscular rays on an 11k+ pond of 3 each 14k+ peaks. Original 6000x4000 pixels.

My whole adult life I have not been able to drink caffeinated drinks. So I rise slowly, usually without a smile. A nice thing about being retired is every day is Saturday. So getting up when doesn't matter if no reasons that is often the case. I often spend an hour or two only half up, after a brief journey, still on my back, maybe a book maybe with the smartphone. If I have something requiring getting up early, I can set up to do that after all I do landscape photography. In the field may get up before dawn in the dark hiking with a head lamp, bundled up for the cold night air, to reach a photo spot like some reflecting lake edge. Generally early mornings are more often the calmest period of high mountain days and illuminating sunlight is most wonderful. In the high country I am too excited for each coming day to not wake before sunrise.

Yes, and that's why I'm here at 5 A M, already haven taken out the garbage, started a load of laundry and fed the dog. Morning is when I have my best energy, I can have the whole house cleaned by eight, or get my grocery shopping done while the store is almost empty.

I have no choice. My eyes pop open and I know there's no use trying to go back to dreamland, just as I know there's no use trying to stay awake for the good late night TV shows.

I do like coming here to my computer desk in the morning where I can look out and see my street, checking that all seems well with the neighbors, and watching the sun rise.

Now my son is getting up, he's the same way and happy to have a job that starts at seven.

Della... just a question.. if you have all your chores done by 8am..what do you do with the rest of the day ?

I am such a night owl..seriously.. but the last few months there's been worrying issues in my house, so I find it difficult to sleep more than a few hours, and I'm awake early in the morning and cannot get back to sleep .. and it's Boring tbh.. I get stuff done.. early granted, but then there's a whole rest of the day to fill... o_O

Just a suggestion, Holly, why not dig your bagpipes out and march around your village at 4.00am, 'Amazing Grace' sounds amazing at that time, then for the afternoon, a bit of caber tossing on the village green would ease the boredom, and, just think about how all your neighbours would take you to their hearts moreso than they do already. You don't have to thank me, but when I come by your way in my steam roller, perhaps you could chuck me a chicken sandwich. 😊

Well that only happens once in a while, usually it's about ten by the time I'm done and by then
I'm starting to get hungry for lunch (since I don't eat breakfast) so I do my exercises, then come here and chat or play hearts, until 11 when I can eat. After that it's read, nap, read some more, or do puzzles, until time to start cooking dinner.

It's a boring life when you look at it.

Yesterday I danced to the songs on your Happy-dance thread!
