Some women like to receive flowers for different reasons, same goes maybe for some men, it pleases them.
Others don't prefer flowers of course. Are you someone who fancies receiving flowers for any occasion or
special occasion?

I over my years have liked receiving flowers, because I have such annoying allergies
I can't keep them around long. The thought though is always appreciated and acknowledged.
I think flowers are so pretty and lovely~

If I am allergic to anything in the flowers, I just move them to a different room, away from
me but so I can still enjoy them visually, such beauty they are.

Good timing for this question. My grandson and his new wife brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Christmas. and I loved it more than any other gift!
I've always appreciated flowers for any occasion or no occasion at all. A single daisy or giant yellow mums.... melts me every time. I don't get many anymore.:(

Thinking back, I can remember my husband actually buying me flowers only a few times. That was nice, and the flowers were beautiful, but I'd rather he spent money on something else. He knew that I really preferred it when he picked me bunches of buttercups from our yard in the springtime. He'd be working outside and come to the door asking for a cool drink. Then he'd present me with a little bouquet of buttercups that he was holding behind his back. I always forgot about the buttercups, lol, but he didn't and did this every year. I loved it. Now I pick my own buttercups and think of him. ❤️

When I had Covid my daughter...
placed this pitcher (from the dollar store🥰) of my favorite flowers outside my door
Gerber Daisies....and they lasted almost forever (photo taken with my old iphone10)
I made sure they had fresh spring water at all times and periodically cut the ends off a little.
They kept me company and healed me as good as new.

I only recieved flowers once in my life, many years ago I came home in the afternoon to find a bouquet of flowers on the table addressed to me, no sender's name. What kind of horrible tragedy would have to have happened for someone to send me flowers? I couldn't imagine. In a panic, I drove to my wife's workplace to find out. She had no idea. Finally after calling everyone near and dear to me, emotionally exhausted, I stopped at a friend's house for coffee and told her about the flowers to find out it was her that had sent them. She just wanted me to know I was appreciated for the work done on a committee we were on together. "Thank you, don't ever do that to me again!"

I never got flowers. I don't know how I would react. I remember picking dandelions and and giving them to my mother with a great deal of pride. She would even put them in a glass of water. I don't know how old I was then.
@JustDave , when I answered this question above, I wanted to add that when my two kids were very young, they would go in the back field, and pick dandelions for me. They knew it would make me smile, and I did put them in a glass vase, on our coffee table. Warms my heart to think of it.

I buy myself white daisies for the kitchen table because it
freshens up my whole home and delights me in the process.

My late husband stopped the truck one day and walked way out into a field
I didn't know where he was going but he came back with a handful of blue
flax flowers for ME! for no reason! Because it was Tuesday!
(blue flowers are my absolute favorite)
I will remember that through all of my lives!

No. It’s a waste of money and they don’t last. I especially don’t like them as a hostess gift. It means stopping preparing the meal and finding the right vase and knife.
These are the same reasons I don't especially like being given flowers, too... they're beautiful and smell great, but they sure don't last very long before they're just a memory. Give me a box of chocolates instead... that won't last very long either, but I'll sure enjoy it. 🤭
