Are You a Vegetarian?

Judy and I are Omnivores, but my Daughter and her husband and their 3 kids are all Vegetarians. The parents are both intelligent, College-educated people with Musical and Literary talents, but why deprive your palate of the Sweet Flesh of the Earth?

My daughter will have Fish, however.

[Hitler was a Vegetarian]

Here is a picture of all of us taken last month at our home...they live in a suburb of Chicago.

Cheers...

Right now I'm not a "veggie" but once was for over 10 years. My beliefs change. I do like getting veggie burgers at the store and will go without meat for periods of time. I don't think I'm classified as a "veggie" now, though.

No, I'm not really fond of meat but do eat it- chicken, fish, occasionally a roast. As individuals who go all the way to 'vegan' don't consume eggs or dairy products, either, I'd be concerned about lacking essential vitamins and minerals. I'm not going to eat artificial meat (like Tofurky) or try to get calcium and iron from some nauseating vegetable like spinach.

Not a vegetarian, although we have many meals that are considered vegetarian, we also like our steaks, ribs, etc. We eat lots of fish like salmon fillets, crab (legs, cakes), stuffed clams, shrimp, etc., just don't overdo on red meat all the time. Nice pic of your family there Hal.

I don't eat hardly any beef at all any more (partly because it has gotten so expensive), and mostly eat chicken and fish. I may go for days and eat no meat of any kind. I'm not a vegetarian, but eat a lot less meat than I used to. I've found that if I eat a lot of meat, particularly red meat, that I end up feeling kind of "loggy."

I'm not a vegetarian but I have cut back on meat consumption mainly due to a lack of faith in our commercial meat supply.

I still crave a roast at holiday time and a great burger or steak every now and then.

Some of the fake meat on the market these days is really pretty good. Gardein makes a variety of good products including meatless ground beef crumbles that are great in chili and Morningstar Farms Grillers Prime Vegi Burgers are good when you load them up with all of the traditional toppings.

We often have meat-free meals, but do not consider ourselves vegetarians. But what we eat is mostly fish and poultry. But we do indulge in burgers and steak now and again

What a nice family photo and beautiful home. We eat fish and chicken once a week as well as one meatless meal. In the winter we have a lot of homemade soup. Many times just vegetable soup. Once in awhile we have breakfast for dinner. French toast or pancakes that the hubby loves with whipped cream and strawberries.

You have a beautiful family Hal. :)

To answer the vegetarian question, I was vegetarian for several years and loved it but a member of my immediate family became seriously ill and there were special meals that had to be prepared for them, so my vegetarian lifestyle had to be sacrificed as it takes a long time to prepare many vegetarian meals, (or it did in the '70's and '80's when I was a vegetarian.) It's a very healthy lifestyle.

Lovely family and home, I know you are proud of them.

Rarely eat steaks or burgers, but when I want one I want one! Prefer seafood and chicken. I could never be a vegetarian, way too may sacrifices.
