Are you a wino? : )

Funny…me and my siblings were always served a glass of wine at holiday dinners. I can’t remember a time that did not happen. It was always a red such as paisano…sort of dry and bitter. None of us drank much. But if I drink a wine I still prefer that dry red flavor.

I love a coke and whiskey-maybe once a year. I am not a drinker of much of anything.
That was my favorite. But I also did countless shots (of whiskey) when I was young(er).

My mom grew up in Italy, so I grew up with wine on the dinner table. She was also Jewish, so it was kosher wine, and almost always red. But I don't care much for wine. I like some port wines, though, especially tawny ports if they're rich and earthy.

I still have a glass of whiskey now and then, on nights when I can't sleep but I really need to, and sometimes on the holidays.

I just threw away a bottle of Vodka my sister brought over from about 4 yrs ago. She stashed it my freezer so to have a sip whenever she came over for a visit. She seemed to do that every time she saw me lol...take a sip or 2 or 3.

I don't drink often. Used to every wknd. My Uncles owned bars and hofbraus in town. Then my cousin opened a bar, so what's a girl to do..;)
To answer the question...no, I'm not a wino.

Funny how my sister quit AA, and now imbibes wine, but very limited. Me? I go for Steel reserve, 8.1% alcohol. Wine just doesn't have what I like.

I enjoy a glass of Moscato wine now and then. Or, a Pinot Grigio on occasion. White wines are my choice, slightly fruity but not too sweet.

I never was able to do whiskey or rum or tequila or wild turkey and such. Can't get it past my nose, smells...rugged!

That is a long-forgotten line from a movie called "Count Yorga, Vampire." When offered a glass, the count says,
"I never drink...wine."
