Are you an extrovert or introvert?

Or both or in between?
I ask that because I think I am a mixture. I am very comfortable with my own company, indeed I need a lot of time alone. However, I am very confident making conversation with friends or strangers, I am not easily intimidated nor am I truly shy.

In between I think. Some days I feel very extroverted and some more introverted. But overall I think I'm more of an extrovert. I'm very okay with meeting strangers and making conversation.

More of a mix here too. I'm not a follower, so I don't go in for doing things just for the sake of being social. It has to be something I really want to do, and if it's social, that's fine. There was a time very early on in my life when I would have walked into a room and wonder if they would like me, only now I walk into a room and wonder if I like them. If not, I have no problem leaving early.

I'm always fascinated by actors. Many who perform on stage, with a strong presence and great communication with the audience seem to be surprisingly reserved, even shy, one to one. One friend who just comes alive as a character on stage is so shy to talk to, he barely looks people in the eye.

That describes me as well. I have good social skills but am selective when I choose to use them.

If I had to assign a term to myself it would be introvert, I truly enjoy and need time to myself.

My husband (bless his soul) was the epitome of being an extrovert. Probably came from trying to get attention in a family of 10 children. He loved meeting new people and was a great storyteller of his experiences with his work., as he met many famous people. Was the life of a party and I suppose this trait was what attracted me to him. On the other hand, I was an introvert. Preferred to stay in the background and watch all the antics. My 2 boys never followed in his footsteps, one comedian in the family was enough, although my youngest has a great sense of humor and used to mimic his father at every opportunity. I really miss, the good old days.

Introverts who live vicariously through their characters. It makes sense.

Yeah, some kids who have loads of siblings vie for attention, and later in life, thrive on it.

Like yourself, I’m both. Some days I’m extra extroverted and some days I’m ultra introverted.
